Not quite as good as the recent HT/eBayPlus deal ($420.75), but very close. If you do Prime and not eBay Plus like I do, this is probably the one you want.
Also far better than the last deal on these via Amazon US ($474.90).

7gb/sec reads are hardly a bottleneck though are they? I mean who even needs the 7gb/sec that gen4 offers.. let alone gen5!
The heatsinks will need to be massive to keep Gen5 heat under control.
So? Remember there were days when you didn’t have to cool CPUs. And yet, people are perfectly OK with strapping massive air cooling towers or even water cooling onto them now. Any SSD cooling requirement will be moderate in comparison. Not to mention that SSDs a tiny. Adding a cooler will still not encroach on the size of those 3.5’ hard drives that we had (have?) in our PCs not too long ago.
Would it be good enough to store movies and pictures on? Asking for a fellow ozbargainer
It would be - but be a waste of money at the same time. Playing back movies reads data sequentially at a predictable pace. A Gen4 SSD is way more capable than that. I’d recommend rather storing movies and other media on a SATA SSD (or even a hard drive).
It’s a good deal for anyone looking to max out their PS5 storage. You will need an extra cooler though.
Gen5 will bow this away
