Hope all is well… I'm very curious to see if anybody here has owned or used both these phones by POCO
POCO X3 PRO 256 I paid $326
The cheapest F3 128GB is $399
I understand the F3 has AMOLED etc
But I want to know if anyone has any unbiased opinions and experiences on both
I did get the poco x3 pro but waited a while so had plenty of time to research the F3 but I'm still not sure if the F3 is worth the extra $$$
Thanks guys
Happy 2022
They are identical phones.
Both are better than most "midrange" phones, and worse than most "luxury" phones. I would place them in the "high-end" category. Here's a spec comparison chart, with links to "review" included.
The choice becomes easy if you require:
- 3.5mm headphone jack (and FM Radio)
- microSD slot
….and if YES to either of those options, then it's the Redmi Poco X3 Pro.
If you DON'T need them, then the Xiaomi Poco F3 has a few advantages:
- thinner and lighter (less battery)
- OLED screen (Always On Display, Brighter, Deeper Blacks/Contrast)
When it comes to other things like: Software, Camera, Battery Life, Performance, and Durability. They are virtually the same/identical, or with negligible differences. They're somewhat close in Price as well, so you can't really say one is definitively better than the other. However, the X3 Pro is more discounted and more often, offering higher Value from that perspective.
When it comes to Software, MIUI is pretty bad. It's fortunate that both devices can get Bootloaders unlocked, and they both have good Community Development. With a clear edge going for the Poco F3 here, over the Redmi X3 Pro. And just as a note, the "best" Custom ROM as of lately has been the Android11-Stable EvolutionX ROM. But you need to be "device specific" when making the choice, since the implementation matters and that part is entirely dependent on the competence of that specific dev or team.
My personal take?
For $400 they're both great value options. The Redmi X3 Pro is hard to beat at $300, but not so much the Poco F3 which hardly reaches $350 mark. These are 2021 "high-end" phones, and they will give good competition against the 2020 "luxury" phones on the ($500) Used Market. However, all three options are eclipsed by the $400 option that was the Samsung A52-S. It is more like a $500 device, which still makes it better than the 2020 ex-flagships, and better than the Poco F3, when looking at the whole package. But the Redmi X3 Pro is still hard to beat at $300, but honestly I wouldn't sweat for that extra $100, and still opt for the Samsung. Buy once, cry once.
