I purchased an item from AliExpress. Worth $50. It didn't arrive and when I queried it, they said it was sent back to them and they'll send a refund.
Then they sent me this message
"Thanks for your reply, dear buyer, please enter your order page and click confirmation of goods receipt, then Leave us a message when you've done it, we will arrange to refund you after it.
Please don't worry, this sentence will become our refund statement. Even if you did not recelve the refund in the end, you can take a screenshot of this screen to the platforn customer service to appeal to us, so that you can get a refund."
Is this normal or generally accepted process?
I know if it was eBay and PayPal etc I wouldn't bother and just file an item not received but I've never dealt with AliExpress returns before.
Thanks
EDIT: I ended up just lodging a dispute. Will see how it goes. Thanks for the responses.
Never confirm the current order unless you've actually received it, this will release funds from escrow and they have no reason to refund you (if they are dodgy).
I would ask them to re-send. Most honest sellers will do this and they will supply a new tracking.
