I was recently shopping for pens for the home office and was wondering on other's opinions on their favourite writing tool.
I'm not talking the basic Papermate Kilometrico that are just there to do the job.
I'm talking pens that when you write with them make you think "oh, that's nice".
Preferably under $10 as we all know if you're paying over $100 for a pen it's gonna be good. Or you'd hope so.
In the past I've liked Uni Jetstream as it had a smooth glide and comfortable feel.
Just interested in other people's favourites.

I love my Pentel
https://www.amazon.com.au/Pentel-Australia-BL407MA-PBOX-Ener…You can buy a 10 pack of refills for not much more
Really nice pen to hold and write with
Second this. The refills can be used in other models as well.
Pilot Supergrid M is pretty nice IMO!
LAMY fountain pens - many colors available.
Pilot G2 for disposable - Good, cheap and you can afford for people to nick them from the office.
Space Pen for freezer work - you can also put the insert into $10 zebra pens and get a space zebra, or zebra pen, whichever floats your boat!
Any decent fountain pen - for mountains of handwriten paperwork and forms, i find fountain pens way more comfortable for writing for more than 20-30 mins continuously. Don't have to press down as much as the ballpoints, so i find it way easier on my hands/wrist. Being able to change ink colour is a nice touch too. I'm partial to the Lamy 2000, but Twsbi are good value an the Pilot Kakuno is amazingly affordable.Sharpie S-GEL is now my favourite. Very smooth and a nice size point.
I loved the old school 90’s pilot pens. But now I like using a Parker hotter, I don’t do a lot of writing but more taken notes throughout the day.
I found a Parker on the street all dinged up. Bent it slightly back into place and it still writes beautifully. Made in the UK too!
I had a jotter with gold accents but was rough, a lot of TLC and elbow grease and it is polished to a mirror finish and always get comments on it. Great pen to jot with
I also found a stainless steel Jotter with gold trim on the street 20 years ago. Engraved for a person named barbs in good condition. I have been using it since. Lost it twice and retraced my steps to find it
Artline 200 Fineliner 0.4mm Black
I've generally switched to the iPad for marking up and note taking, though it's a very expensive way to live life.
Notability has been the go-to app for things. The benefit is the timestamping, digital tools, and the cloud storage which means you can get to all the notes on a phone or computer if needed.
Not for everyone, but I haven't bought a new notepad for a while and it's been easier than I'd expected to switch- have done so for the last 2 years without issue.
Otherwise a good Parker clicky top.
I am using a Tab S7 and I found being able to directly annotate onto PDFs to be really good for university works. It also keeps everything neat and tidy unlike some of the notes I have that I've done physically.
Though, as you said, probably not for everyone.
Kilometrico or the BIC 4 colour pen. Both pens that my mum would never buy for me when i was a kid so have made up for it in spades since i started earning decent money.
I love the idea of using a jotter but in practice I always end back to a Papermate Kilometrico. Have some fountain pens, which are nice but sometimes a pain when running out of ink when you not expecting it.
PEN15 - never looked back. It can be a bit hard to write with though - the grip is what counts. But with practice, you’ll have a great feeling every time you use it
I have a Pilot BPGP Super Grip which I've come to love. It's quite smooth and flows nicely. It's very affordable and I'd definitely buy one again.
Yeah, it's called a keyboard.
Yeah a digitizer
Sharpie gel pens are the best. Or the uni-ball rt 1.
I just bought some Papermate InkJoy 300RT's yesterday to replace my previous favourite, Kilometrico Elite…
I've tested one out for a bit and it's a good smooth-writing pen…
It even has a rubberised grip…and not too expensive…
I love the Xiaomi Mi Rollerball Pen, got like 20 refills for it
what's a pen? 🤔
It got me thinking. I haven't used a pen or printer in ages. Adobe DC Pro made everything for me paperless
Anything but those leaky BICs.
Preferably Staedtler's.
Fountain pens!
Uni Jetstream or Pilot G2 if you just want something fairly cheap that's easy to pick up and scribble with and toss in a bag, also easily found anywhere that sells pens. Favourite pen overall is well north of the $10 mark, but a Pelikan M805 Blue with EF nib is my go-to writer.
I just bought a Loom rollerball and some schmidt 888m refills. Cant wait to get them

I think 0.7 is fairly widely available. I am not a ballpoint person but I think Japanese ballpoints generally go down to 0.5 and 0.7 (I know Jetsteam does). I think Parker Quinkflow medium is 0.7mn.
Jetstream edge goes down to 0.28 and 0.38.
