Nice one - I hadn't though this was available in Oz - it's been 35 years since I've had Maibock and the season is just right.
Out of curiosity, what makes middle of the summer the right season for it?

It is a beer released in May as the weather warms, a summer ale. I also wouldn't mind seeing Urbock for winter, however Southwark Old is, for a large commercial brewery product, an amazingly good substitute.
I drank an Austrian beer, Urbock 23, nearly 30 years ago in Italy and still dreaming about it

I called them and confirmed that the beer are short dated. It's their annual (2021) stock clearance and potentially the taste will be different.

it's a Beer brewed for May so and it's too far away from May '22 for it to be fresh… But I believe it's Malt driven, not Hops driven, so shouldn't be too bad.
