Was about to buy the POCO F3 for 350, but the proximity sensor problem sounds like a dealbreaker issue for a device meant to be used for calls.
I've come across a Realme GT Neo 2 8/128GB deal for 540 AUD in Aliexpress, is there any reason why they are not listed here? I am also not sure of how stupid that much more is stupid for similar specs.
Those 175 extra aud get:
- A longer update period (3 years starting October instead of 2 years starting March?).
- 2 extra GB RAM.
- Better and less bloated software.
- Larger battery (though not necessarily longer lasting?)
- Faster charging (66 vs 33)
- More efficient, brighter display. (E4 Amoled)
- A phone that you can actually use as a phone.
Downsides:
- No headphone jack.
- Realme is very unlikely to get custom ROMs (LineageOS).

Would this be a bad purchase now, specially with the new releases around the corner? (My main concern about the new xiaomis (Redmi Note 11s, Poco F4) are the processor choices -untested Mediateks or overheating qualcomm models, likely unpolished/bloated software and the lottery of new dealbreaking issues reviews will of course not mention).
Anything else I should be keeping an eye for these days? Keys:
- I don't game on mobile (occassional boardgame/card game), but value a snappy, fluid user interface.
- Good battery life
- NFC
- Ideally Amoled, headphone jack
- Don't care at all about speakers
- Don't need a top of the line camera.
why don't you post a deal and see where it goes ?
