  • After the QCY T7 debacle where they all showed up DOA, I'm slightly hesitant with the brand.

    • Yeah, I can understand. I had a dead T7 and a working T5. I messaged them for the T7 and they replaced with a Q13 (which thankfully worked on arrival).

      • How do you message them from Amazon application? There's no contact details.

    Never QCY

  • 45ms?! No thanks. Not getting rid of my cable just yet, if thats "low latency". Rhythm gaming impossible.

    • Yeah, this needs LE Audio to get latency down to decent levels.

The human ear can't detect more than 60ms.

      • +1

        It's at most 13ms.

        • +3

I think it was a bad joke at the cost of console gamers about how the human eye apparently cant see more than 60fps, lol.

          • +1

@MasterScythe: LOL you're right. I've genuinely seen people float numbers between 40-60 ms though, it's an irritating subject.

@jasswolf: The reason numbers and reaction times and such are all useless, is because they're treated as binary events.

They become WILDLY variable if its a predicted event.

Just watch any rhythm gamer; "perfect" scores are within 5ms of a beat; and many can "Full Perfect" songs.

You have a combination of queues, such as the previous beat, and a visual to help.

Its one of the reasons why dubstep caught so many peoples ears; it was unpredictable and interesting to people who had been over exposed to 4:4 songs; now dub is overused, and the next thing will come along.

              Humans are weird.

              • @MasterScythe: I think you mean "Combination of cues".

Also, surely any decent rhythm game will let you calibrate to counter any delay anyway.

                • @happykamper: I did, thank you.

And yes, if this is a guaranteed exact 45ms, then it'd be usable.

But often it varies, since BT is designed to adjust its packet size to the environment.

I use some RF wireless headphones with my dance dance revolution machine, so I dont wake neighbours at 3am; and I was able to adjust the 24ms or so of those.

But BT risks changing bitrate and such mid use… not sure I wanna risk that yet.
