I really enjoy this beer, although I hate beer from cans.
do you hate the Asahi Superdry Japan import?
The bottles are the same price
So they are! Cheers matey
Generally better value in the cans.
375ml vs 330ml in a bottle.
But it seems mountain goat very enjoyable beer bottles are also 375ml!
It’s good beer!
Not the worst beer.
I can only imagine piss in a bottle could be worse than this shit.
Tell us then, what should we drink instead?
What about piss in a can?
Yar, this is terrible beer. I'd rather drink VB carlton draught, tooheys, anything!
Good beer, recommended at this price
Good beer
Bad hangover

Is he going to run down there too ???
Is he going to run down there too ???
Bit difficult to run down to tassie, might be able to swim though
Bit difficult to run down to tassie
Didn't he claim to walk on water at one stage?
Beer in a can? Not GOAT if you ask me.
Haha. To each to their own about GOAT, but are you typecasting all canned beer?
Pour into a glass, like regular civilised beer drinkers.
They are selling these in bottles for the same price at Liquorland/Coles too, great price…good beer.
What breed of goat does this come from?
Seems like it would be cheaper to get it from the source.
each to their own but "not enjoyabe beer" The first one is tolerable ice cold out of the freezer but its all down hill from there.
Goat is decent. Not bad at all
I agree!
Goat's not bad - and weirdly a slab of it costs $49 on Coles' site, while 4x6 packs costs $48. Go figure!?!
Yeah something to watch out for - I had similar with James Squire's Zero beer at woolies a month ago. $9 for a 6pack but 45 for a carton. So yep, I'd get a carton, tear it open and scan 4x 6packs. This is the way.
unit price is king
A good summer beer, not too strong, drinks easy. Typically seems to sit at about 50/carton here in WA. So reasonably priced.
Most of us aren't here to find 'reasonably priced' things though!
Can Vegans drink this beer?
Wikipedia says
All Mountain Goat beers are vegan friendly. No animal products are used in their production and their beers are fined using a centrifuge
Can't find anything specific on website.
This website advises that when they asked in 17 and 18 they were
$10 on coles docket plenty of times and it is the worst beer
i never notice on docket
I don't think QLD is excluded, I saw this offer at the Liquorland at Lutwyche (next to Coles) last night (Sunday 9 Jan)
Queensland is excluded from this specific promotion on Coles Online, because Coles cannot sell liquor through the Coles Online website in Queensland. (I think it has something to do with liquor laws in Queensland requiring a supermarket to own a hotel before being able to sell liquor directly to customers.)
Coles Online typically uses Liquorlands to fulfill Coles Online orders of liquor in other jurisdictions (where permitted), so I’m not overly surprised you saw that offer at a Queensland Liquorland.
Basic faux-craft beer
To be fair, MG started as craft, but now no longer is.
Yeah apparently they were important to the rise of craft beer in Aus before they got bought. Nothing wrong with that tbh
Nothing wrong with it for the owners to cash out and gets good beers in locations they wouldn't otherwise be. However, still squeezes out truly independent beers and I avoid them if there are good options who are true independent craft, which usually isn't that hard.
@greennick: best examples?
And you can taste it too.
I got this last time it was on sale, I wouldn't buy it again.
What beer you drink?
If I'm gonna be drinking all day I'll go for Ballistic Hawaiian Haze, Cronulla Beer Co Ultra Haze, Stockade Splicer or Bentspoke Barley Griffin.
If I want something heavier then lately I've been drinking Sunday Road Cryotherapy Hazy, Feral Biggie Juice, Dad & Daves Galaxy Smash Double IPA and Mountain Culture Cult IPA.
never heard of any of em hhaa
@capslock janitor: Treat yourself mate, give any of those a try.
Duff Beer is brewed from hops, barley, and sparkling clear mountain goat.
duff as in simp sons?
Does anyone know of any codes like the "Cheers20" code in Dec that could bring price down more?
Wait 'til Wednesdy…
Nope 😔
so how shall i reach $20?
https://shop.coles.com.au/a/keysborough/everything/browse/li…
every spend of $20 gets you an entry, plus these products give you an additional one per product. Enjoy!
@capslock janitor: no worries, enjoy!
Lots of back and forth about how good this is, not a bad thing - beer is very personal so for $12 worth getting a 6pack to test it for yourself.
It’s a Lager style so don’t expect Ale depths of flavour but for a lager I think it’s decent, with a bit of sweetness to it in my palette, not quite as crisp as a fancier Pilsner but a great summer beer and avoids some of the unpleasant characteristics that come with TEDs / Superdrys and probably as or more enjoyable than locally brewed coronas / Heinekens / Becks . Also it’s only 4% which matters to me as I don’t like to build up alcohol levels when I’m having multiple beers.
For 6x375ml at this price I feel it’s great value vs the brands referenced above.
Hope that helps someone
Well said.
Don't forget to roast some veggies to pair with it
It is available in SA. Not a bad beer for $12 a sixer
Edit ^^
If you want to be compensated for substandard beer, contact the lawyers at Goat, Goat and Goat.
Beers beer… If you drink it quick enough how can you judge it?
It's okayish. I would pay $40/slab. It's better than furphies.
Expired (back to $19 on Coles website). I bought a 6-pack yesterday to try. Thanks OP.
Good price. Not the worst beer.
