Furniture Ordered August Still Not Delivered

Ordered entertainment unit last August told will arrive September. Still not delivered despite repeated calls and delays blamed on overseas shipping deliveries.

Are others experiencing same issue when placing and paying for order from furniture retailers?

    Thanks for the feedback. Wife is very disappointed still has not arrived despite being told each time will be delivered when container arrives from overseas and sitting in port waiting for transport. 6 months is a long time for container to arrive!

  • Depends where you bought it from, tbh needs more information.

    Nic Scali takes 3-4 months as it's custom build on order, entertainment units should be pretty stock standard.
    I feel they're stringing you along along 6 months is ridiculous.
    Push for a refund.

  • Bought a bunch of outdoor furniture from Early Settler in November. I ended up selecting stuff that wasn't my first preference because I didn't want to wait months on end for it. Finally taking delivery of one piece tomorrow, the other bits have been delayed until early March.

    My advice is just buy what you want and be prepared to wait. Also going to outlet places to buy gear is a good option because it is cheap and the best of all you are looking at the piece you will buy and will either take it with you or have it delivered within a week.

  • Yes, had furniture delivered just last week, ordered Aug last year. Strung along with "should be here in 2-3 weeks" each time. My takeaway: they really do have no idea, and their previous experiences are just not applicable in this climate.

  • Your options are:

    a) Wait
    b) Get a refund.

    But just know that shipping delays are global so if you cancel and order from somewhere else, you might start the waiting again. Otherwise, buy something that's already in stock.

    But yep, it's a common thing nowadays with supply chains severely delayed. I've had issues with both West Elm and Lounge Lovers recently. Had to chase up refunds for both. I'm 99% sure your retailer is facing the same issue.

  • Have just been advised will be arriving next week. Seems like it is a common issue with all retailers and eventually it arrives. Always an issue when you use a retailer you have not previously used to wonder if they are genuine with so many scams running. These people are genuine. Thanks to all those who shared a common experience.
