Yuck! I thought the Corsair Force series is supposed to kick ass.
Do you mind explaining why its worth remembering its QLC? In what way will this effect the end user? Thanks
relatively poor endurance and speeds compared to TLC drives, though the SLC cache helps manage this somewhat.
Thing with QLC drives is once the SLC is exhausted, it gets terribly slow, much slower than a mechanical disk.
@BargainKen: while sustained write isn't great, still better than mechanical HDD for seq, and heaps better for random
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/corsair-mp400-2-tb/6.html
There is 2tb of it though so that helps the endurance a bit.
If not the speed.
It's not great. But frankly it's the right price. 2tb is more useful than faster drives. I got the old copper gigabyte which is faster.. I swear it's still slow as (profanity) sometimes. Should never have to see it think about the contents of a directory just because you're simultaneously copying files from it, yet it does.
The gen 4 gigabyte drive?
That's constructively debatable.
I would rather have a x50 faster 1TB than a 300TB IDE drive.
Also it depends whether we are talking about C or additional drives
for those who don't mind QLC & want a bit more performance or a cheaper 2TB PS5 drive (but you will need to remove or swap the heatsink), the MP600 Core is also on sale for $259
https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/cssd-f2000gbmp600cor-cors…
note that it doesn't meet the minimum read specs, but 'works'
Would it make much difference as a games drive?
very unlikely - the min of 5500MBps is what Sony recommends but people haven't seen any noticeable game performance issues
BPC have a low profile HS on sale too, but I don't know for sure whether PS5 compatible (but looks to be)

For a pc
@brocky2006: ah.. then yes… better off getting a 2TB Samsung 870 EVO+ on sale for around same coin - not PCIe 4.0, but better game loading performance
for example - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/662018
EDIT: better answer to your question, if you just want storage, then get the MP400 - if you want loading performance and buying right now, then the MP600 Core
@HeXa: Didn't see a review comparing the 2 but this says otherwise
https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Corsair-MP400-2TB-vs-S…
@brocky2006: that is the SATA 870 EVO, not the 970 EVO+ I meant (sorry - my typo of 870 instead of 970… I have a lot of SSDs….)
you want the NVME version - https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-970-Evo-Plus-N…
EDIT: note the SATA drive image for the MP400 doesn't match the speeds below which are more NVME drive like
& a review comparing - https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/9631/corsair-mp400-2tb-nvm… - only a single game but otherwise the MP400 is still a great drive for the price
QLC is not good.
Just warning about BPC handling times, of the 4 orders I've placed with them. All have been a month wait. 1 still outstanding from Nov which I am about to call and cancel.
Good luck getting this urgently.
I've bought twice from them courtesy of oz bargain links…both times deliveries were pretty quick…no complaints at all from me…
Just reminding, it is QLC. Does have DRAM tho.
