Out of curiosity, why doesn't Coles offer more half price specials? When compared to Safeway (yeah still call them that), Woolies seems to other consistently a lot more items on half price sale (maybe approx 2x the amount- there are always like 7 or so pages of them on Wollies).
Coles clearly like the "flash bang" of half price specials but seem to be blown away consistantly by the amount of items on sale when comparedls with Wollies. And for an OzBargainer, that matters.
Mind U, find a semi quiet Coles and U get a lot of available reduce to clear bargains at Coles- they seem to clear their stock at a lower price than Wollies- there must be a difference in policy here too- or maybe I just found a quiet Coles where I can exploit this more.
