UberEATS Charged Me UberPass despite Cancelling The Day before

There was a 2 weeks promo free for uber pass and i had made sure I cancelled it a day before however just looked at my bank statement now and it seemed they went ahead and charged $14.99 anyway, despite me cancelling before the trial period.

I'm not able to find anyway to contact them. Anyone can point me to the right direction please?

  • Did they charge your credit card or was it a direct debit? If credit card, dispute it with your bank as unauthorised.

        You can still dispute it assuming it's a Debit Visa/Mastercard.

    They charge you one day before it ends. Mine expires on the 6th but i saw they will charge on the 5th, so i cancel it on the 4th about 8pm. The uberpass screen will show subscription ends on 6th and shows a renew button. I assume subscription ends ‘cos it was an option to “renew” if i need more of their service.
    I suspect users need to cancel it two days before it ends, instead of canceling it on the day.

    Thank you all, good outcome in the end. Westpac gave me the money back as a goodwill gesture after I called them up to dispute it. The rep seemed quite understanding of how hard it is to contact Uber so I think that helped.

    • I opened a PayPal dispute with Uber (driver took me to wrong location) as no way to sort it directly. PayPal refunded the $ but Uber says I still owe it and won’t allow me to close my account! Never used them since.

      • Having a similar situation myself! Uber Eats missed 2 items from a meal order, Uber Eats refused to acknowledge so I opened a PayPal case. PayPal refunded the $ for the missing item. Now PayPal wants me to pay the entire price of the meal again, despite the fact that after the refund there is still over 50% of the fee paid. Reallllly good company. Tried to contact them to explain and they told me it's because of a pre-auth hold (scripted response)
