Wemax Go Advanced Mini ALPD Projector - Suitable for Home Cinema?

I have owned a couple of anker mini projectors in the past however nothing close to the claimed 600 ansi lumen in the small form factor of the Wemax Go Advanced on Indiegogo. The crowdfunding product seems to be a clone of the FengMi X1 already on banggood for $1,300 so it’s priced okay at USD $599 with a bunch of freebies.

Any experienced AV guys that can chime in on whether 600 ansi will be suitable for a home cinema?

The youtube review of the thing looks pretty good https://youtu.be/jpWqP0fBZ1Q

Depends on what your reference and standards are. My first projector was a Benq VGA with RCA inputs, and I thought it was amazing - compared to the CRT TV I was watching at the time. If you're going from a TV of any size to a projector for the first time, you'll love it.

Is SFF/portability essential in your case? It took me a while to get my current projector aligned, calibrated and secured (ceiling mount) so I'm hoping to never have to move it again.

    • Portability is definitely always a plus just for versatility’s sake. The thing seems to focus and square itself automatically per the video review so hopefully it won’t be too much of an issue. Any notable concerns with lamp life? I’ve seen other projectors quoted at 100k hours where this one only says 25k.

      • My current benq reckons I'll get 3000 hours… so 25,000 hours seems sufficient. It'll be obsolete before you hit the lamp life limit.

Nearly 23 years operating it 3 hours a day.
