      Mitu

    • Same

  • Did you apply you $5 off to this?

    • +2

The eBay Plus $5 voucher has a $50 minimum spend

      • +1

Not for select few see here - $5 giftcard to select eBay Plus members.

    • But this deal mentions nothing about the need for a code or being a targeted offer.

  • +1

I'm Ebay Plus member, and this shows as $15.

    • Sorry typo, $15.00 is the correct price. Posting updated.

      • At $10 this might be tempting, but plenty of no name brand power banks with much higher capacities advertised on Ebay for cheaper ($12.85).

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/284242628357?hash=item422e2e4f05…

Why should I buy your one instead?

        • +4

          You shouldn’t. No bargain here

        • +1

really? No name brand? CyberPower products are sold at JB Hifi, Harvey Norman, and Officeworks specialising in UPS.

          • -1

@CodeXD: I've never heard of CyberPower, hence my question asking why I should buy one.

But since you've been kind enough to let me know that some retailers stock it I dug a little further in regards to reviews.

As it turns out, Choice has reviewed this very product model as part of a general power bank review. "Discontinued" and "not recommended" were the two words that stuck out to me the most.

Just because something is sold at multiple retailers doesn't mean its good, whatever it is they "specialise" in. Retailers typically pick items they know they can source cheap enough to make a profit on… not necessarily what is good quality.

            • +2

@UFO: Turns out with a few prompts you can do your own research!

You also shouldn't buy the "50,000mah" eBay one as well.

  • +1

Just be aware that it has only Micro-USB for charging - no USB-C

    • -2

      It has USB and micro-USB.
Didn't your phone come with a USB-A to USB-C cable? How do you plug it into anything to transfer photos? They're a whole $1.50 at Daiso anyhow.

      • +2

        A USB-A to USB-C cable won't charge the powerbank.

  • +1

Wow, a UPS for your phone!

  • +1

    Ahh…

I got this for $1 during an old shopping express sale. Still serving me well as a backup power bank all these years later.

    • So cheap.

      • +3

To honest you’d be better off spending an extra $15-20 or so and getting a higher capacity and faster charge rate device from a reputable brand.

        • $15-20 is double the price of this, and it won't be twice as good.

          • +5

@CodeXD: That’s a big claim to say it won’t be twice as good.

I’d consider twice the capacity, USB-C, faster charge rate, reliable brand such as last week when the Romoss was on sale as twice as good as the device in this deal. Going cheap doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a better purchase.

          • +1

@CodeXD: Its a pocketable bomb, you never skimp on li-ion batteries.

  • I've got hundreds of reclaimed 18650 and 21700 cells. Is there a good unit that comes without cells?

  • is this the same company that sells UPS?

    EDIT:
    Yes they are:
    https://www.cyberpower.com/au/en/product/sku/cp10000peg-wg

    Damn that's cheap

    • +1

It's also obsolete. No USB-C and no quick charging standards supported.

It's a decent purchase if you have a use and are as are of the limitations.

      • +1

I love powerbanks with USB C PD and/or QC3/2 and even better with Total Max Output

of 30W+ from a decent brand or even from Kogan purchased for a low special price.

But if you are after a safe brand decently made with decent parts, even with basic features

this is a good buy, especially for people far away or not wanting to travel. Still loads of uses for a basic

powerbank such as this as still charges many basic gadgets( bar laptops etc. ), just not as fast.

Edit: Of course also no good for things like Ocolus Quest and Switches etc.

    • Sells UPS?

  • +3

Before anyone asks, these are no good for charging your Oculus Quest 2's that you all bought for Christmas. You need at least 2.4A output. Both of these are 2.1A.
