Because the two of you posted at the same time, this can happen, the obvious thing is to continue the chain along.
It's unfortunate and noone was at fault, reality is its happened to many of us at times. I can refer you to several posts where its also happened to me, I dont make a fuss about it I am thankful i get referrals on other comps.Not sure why you're downvoting people based on the concept of following a chain. Its very immature to say the least
you're supposed to use the person who posted first when there's two, cause the second one either didn't refresh the page or was unlucky but the first did nothing wrong for sure cause they were first
@smashman42: Neither person did wrong is the reality. Both first and second did nothing wrong by the very same argument.
It's why people should refresh, and also post their referral link immediately prior to actioning other entry mechanics to limit the likelihood of it happening.
Yea the obvious thing to do when you accidentally double up on using someones link is to not add your own or it breaks the very chain you seem so eager to keep going. So using the link of the person that just broke the chain and defending it as keeping the chain going is, lets just say questionable.
Sure we were pretty close at only about a minute between us but what if it had been an hour? Would that have changed your decision? Did you actually sit and compare the times first to decide which link to use? Both end up with what is essentially a second chain, breaking the first.
All doing it your way does is incentivise people to not give a shit because as long as they are the last person on the list, their link will get used no questions asked and rewards thoughtless and selfish behaviour. "Oops I doubled up on that link! Oh well, that sounds like a them problem". If you genuinely think that your way is the right way to follow a chain, I question your logical reasoning abilities.

The accusation of immaturity on the basis of someone daring to question your actions is also laughable.

If it was over an hour it wouldn't of been due to using the link at the same time so yes it would have changed the decision in that circumstance and I would have gone with the first one. For your reference yes I did look at the time, that weighed into the decision as outlined below.
Completely different circumstance if over an hour as your referencing as it wouldn't have been an accidental occurrence as this clearly was.
As for my logical reasoning abilities I actually checked both of your user accounts, I made an informed decision to go with the older of the two members and that happened to also be the person who didn't post 'use mine please kthx' nor the one who was questioning others whether they had ad blockers turned on etc from previously entered comps when people have used your link. So question it away but you'll find it is very sound.
Anyways I'm sure there's better things to be doing to round out the year, have yourself a great New Years.
