Free US$50 Worth of Bitcoin after US$100 Purchase of Crypto @ Okcoin

240

OK here goes for my first post- go easy on me! For those interested in the cryptocurrency space this could be of interest to get some free Bitcoin for jumping through a few straight forward hoops. As for OKcoin- it has been around since 2013 and is one of the largest Bitcoin exchanges so it seems like one of the better options. I've used it a bit since I got my signup bonus and have found it to be pretty good. They should call it PrettyGoodCoin imo.

For me the deal was pretty straight forward so hopefully it is for you too.

Here are the steps..

Step 1: Sign-up with the referral link in the deal

Step 2: Deposit US$100 in any supported crypto (if you are concerned with general volatility of crypto then you can purchase a stable coin such as USDT). Remember it has to be at least US dollar value of $100.

Step 3: Authenticate yourself to KYC level 2. This doesn't take long.

Step 4: You will receive your free US$50 Bitcoin

Step 5: Wait 180 Days, The BTC can be traded but not withdrawn until then. (Mod - Edit. Thanks shadowangel).

Once you have received your benefit you can change your initial investment back into Fiat or transfer out or HODL! The rewards require 180 days before being withdrawn.

    All these sats 😍

  • do you have to buy the $100 crypto from them or you can just deposit the $100 from another exchange?
Edit: you have to buy it so OP you may wish to reword your step 2 description from 'deposit" to "purchase". Ty

    • I think you have to ‘buy’ just going through the terms and conditions

  • Who is the refferer?

    • The referral link is just that ozbargain one at the bottom of the deal

      • -1

so ozbargain will receive the $50?

        • +1

no it randomises every ozbargainer that has entered their referral code so one lucky ozbargainer gets the $50 at random each time someone clicks the link. Add your link to be in the running by clicking the edit button in the referral links box below the deal info.

  • what's the fees and spread?

one of the largest Bitcoin exchanges

can you back that up, is it an australian exchange with local oversight? never heard of them

    • 27th on CMC list. Never heard of them either.

    • Ranked 28th largest by trading vol according to coin market cap

    • I’d have to do some deep diving into this but it’s presented as that on their about us and on investopedia. I’m no connoisseur of exchanges though.

    • Don’t see any fees listed. Specifically says no fees for withdrawing via Lightning, nothing about Avax or Eth tho.

  • What coins can you buy?

    • Don’t have the exact number but it’s got heaps. I haven’t had any issues finding any well enough known coins.

  • Keep getting face not recognised on the KYC step 2

    • Yeah this was easy for me but it took my wife 5 goes. I think it was the lighting

    • Me too. Had better luck using the mobile app.

Rewards become available for withdraw after 180 days

    • Just read that too haha oh well, bored

    • +2

also: Depositing crypto for the purpose of converting it to fiat to then buy crypto will disqualify you from this promotion, at our sole discretion.

    • +1

Wait what half a year before you can withdraw the bonus? No deal at all

    • something that should be added to OP for sure!

    • Added this to the description, thanks. Didn’t know this one as I’ve bought, sold and held and haven’t been picked up on it- must have to have at least that balance in your account for 180 days.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Has anyone found info on withdrawal fees? Either as crypto or as fiat. I can't find any info on whether they'll do a fiat withdrawal to an Aussie bank account.

It looks like buying crypto will eat up $5-$6 of the free $50. Just wondering how easy it's going to be and how much it will cost to get everything out of there once I have the free $50.

    • I signed up awhile ago, no deposit needed for the $100USD. Now you need to make a deposit and you can't transfer for 180days.

      • "no deposit needed… Now you need to make a deposit…" What?

        • I just went into my account. The withdrawal fees are dependent on the method. It says it’s free for wire but 3.99% for visa and Mastercard. There’s a few other options too. I’ve only ever withdrawn on chain so it’s been next to nothing.

As for buying- I just went in and put in $50 of Bitcoin and the fee was $2. I changed it to $100 and it said no fees. I think the fees are pretty minimal/none. Especially compared to my Coinspot account.

Also to the above I think what they are saying is that you need to transfer/deposit $100 in to buy the crypto. With the fee free purchase, in most cases, it just means another step but an easy one.

Hope that helps. Happy to go into my account and suss out any other info.

          • +4

@Corza000: Thanks, I've checked the fees and it looks like its pretty cheap to transfer out. It looks like total fees/spread to buy and then sell everything back to fiat will be around $8.50, so this is $41.50 (~$57 australia) free money, assuming bitcoin is the same price in 6 months.

I used my ING visa debit with the "Buy Crypto" button and it worked no problem. (86400 didn't work for me)

Here's my calculations, buying $US110 of BTC using an ING visa debit card and then transferring the BTC to Coinspot to withdraw to an Australian bank account:

I bought 0.0023161 BTC for $158.63 using ING visa debit.
I should receive ~0.00105514 free BTC (in ~5 days)
            ..wait 180 days..
Network fee to withdrawal BTC to coinspot is currently 0.00002
Coinspot will currently give me $215.38 for 0.00335124 BTC (0.0023161+0.00105514-0.00002)
profit = $56.75 (assuming bitcoin is the same price in 6 months)

            • @devilbabies: @ devilbabies
how did you use your ING visa debit to do the deposit?
is the "buy crypto" option in OKcoin portal or in ING app? as i couldnt find it in ING app so guessing its in OKcoin
And were there any fees with your deposit?

              Thanks :)

  • couldnt get it to work with my bank card or credit card and apparently transferring crypto to sell to USD and then buy is not allowed… so im giving up. If anyone else has success let us know your method. Sounds like it might be easier for US users.

You might be interested in Ledn $50 in USDC after 15 days after depositing at least 75 USDC or 0.0015 BTC into the account within 30 days of verifying identity.

If you like them, you can earn interest on your BTC and USDC. I am a long-term customer earning BTC on my holdings and happy with them.

    • Use Visa, 86400 is one of the better banks for crypto.

    • +3

Not sure if this will help:

      1. Login on computer
      2. Go to assets
      3. Go to deposit
      4. Select USD currency
      5. Go to add account
      6. Select the bottom credit/debit card option (not second from bottom)
      7. Put in address and continue
      8. Put in card details
      9. Complete form with amount and complete
      • ONE THING I NOTICED THAT MAY TRIP A FEW PEOPLE UP IS THAT IN ORDER TO BUY CRYPTO YOU NEED TO TRANSFER FROM YOUR FUNDING ACCOUNT TO YOUR TRADING ACCOUNT

Apologies for the capitals- someone else might need that one too

      • So you have to fund the account first and then purchase? Could I use my Revolut card to purchase crypto straight up?

      • Can you just transfer? In crypto?

        • I read a comment saying you can’t do that 🤷🏽‍♂️

          • +1

@bobwokeup: Yeah just reading the terms and conditions it says you must ‘buy’ crypto. Haven’t tried it myself so not sure if it will work.

  • Anyone tried using a crypto.com card to make the deposit. Can offset most of the fees 😊

    • I tried to add my card just now and it didn’t work so I guess crypto cards aren’t allowed 😢

      • +2

It’s more from Crypto.com side of things where they don’t allow their Visa card to be used to purchase crypto or for gambling.

        • Cheers I thought it might be that but wasn’t sure.

  • Has anyone been able to login to the iOS app?

I tried yesterday then again today and it says “Network error. Please try again later.”

    • +1

      No issues for me.

  • Bought USD with my Wise card.

Easy as. Got me some ETH

How long does it take to get BTC?

    • +2

They get distributed daily at 4am I believe

    • +3

Processing times usually average 5 days.
Once processed, rewards will be distributed daily at 4am PT.

  • I think I messed this up. Deposited $US with debit card, bought $101 of eth, it showed up as like $99.50 so did same thing again with $25. One transaction ended up in funding account, the other in spot account. Transferred all into spot account. I don't feel good about this…

    • +1

Don’t stress. You can always pull the money out if it becomes too much.

If you want to finish what you started you can transfer to and from accounts pretty easily and shouldn’t be charged for that. What you want is to put it in the ‘trading account’. When it’s in there you are able to buy crypto of your choice.

      • Thanks, I'm a stress-head by nature. It's just a bummer if I missed out on the $50 referral bonus.

        • +1

Ha all good- I am too. I doubt you have missed out on the offer. You can buy the $100 of crypto at any point. Buying a stable coin is always a less stressful option too and then you can always just sell it and transfer it back to your account the next day.

    • How did you deposit USD with a debit card? I tried Up but as Okcoin is in Hong Kong they can’t send USD there. Tried Wise and they charge a small fortune plus the other bank fee is up to $50 USD but couldn’t tell me the exact cost.

Who did you use and how much did it cost?

      • Used Revolut

        • Oh damn yeah of course, so just convert AUD to USD and then deposit?

  • Odd. Could've sworn I used a referral code.

I got an automated email detailing: "For the rest of the calendar month, you’ll get $20 in bitcoin when you buy $100 or more in crypto with us."
    T&C's says locked for 120 days: https://support.okcoin.com/hc/en-us/articles/4415148286221-O…

I'll still do it, but I was expecting "free US$50 Bitcoin (locked up 180 days)"

    • +2

Same I think this is an additional promo

      • +1

Looks like you can't get the free $20 if you've already signed up using a referral for the free $50. Does anyone know for sure?

"This promotion is not valid in conjunction with any other promotion including but not limited to our Referral program. Meaning that you cannot participate in multiple promotions."

        • Oh good pick up! I didn't notice that line.
Well hopefully I'm credited the $50 in BTC anyway (hasn't happened yet, but noticed your other post re: "average 5 days, distributed daily at 4am PT"

        • +3

I have asked the question to support.

          I'll find out.

        • +2

We are sorry for the confusion, pertaining to your referral rewards query, you are eligible for the 50$ rewards after the completion of KYC 2 and 100$ purchase on our platform.

Kindly be informed, this promotion is not valid in conjunction with any other promotions, discounts, or promo codes unless otherwise stated.

You could choose between both promotions, however, because you qualified for Referral Program as you have registered using a referral code, only one reward will be credited to your account.

I hope it clarifies. Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us again.

  • Does anyone knows if the US$100 purchase of crypto would be stuck in the platform for 180 days too?

    • +1

No it’s not. Just the rewards are. I bought a stablecoin and then withdrew it after I received the reward.

  • Has anyone been able to deposit USD successfully?

I started the process but couldn’t copy all the details to paste it on my Up or Revolut account.

  • +5

Got my BTC credited today, deposited on 30/12. Worth $45 after todays dip, but it's free money :)

Got mine today as well. Glad it went in during the dip.

  • Changed to 10$ :(

  • Is this deal over? Referral links seems to be giving $10 BTC now.
