Hey guys, so I was looking into purchasing a new monitor for my Dad's Mac PC because he knocked it over and cracked the screen recently (He has those All in one PCs that are built into the screen. I was wondering if I need to buy an offical Apple cable adapter for HDMI or are there 3rd party ones that I can buy and use without any issues. There are only x2 Thunderbolt (Large port) and a bunch of usb slots on the back of his Mac, I'm not too familiar with Mac computers and their proprietary cables, so I just wanted to ask to make sure.
Need a little more information on your Dad's Mac as there are several versions of Thunderbolt. The Mac Model No would be helpful. It's located on the back or bottom of the machine.
If it's an iMac and the display is cracked. Depending on its age, I would consider replacing the display or the entire computer.
