With the recent eneloop deals we have so many batteries at hand I think we need a good charger. :)

Nope, no deal. I have this one, it's utterly crap. It's simply cannot be trusted at all. Any info displayed can be completely wrong.
Have a D4 which is perfect. Thought this could be an upgrade, which turned out disappointing.I had a very similar experience. I had the D4 which I regrettably gave to a relative. The SC4 gives different readings and ratings to my batteries every time I use it. It also has a very loud coil whine that I didn't notice with the D4.
Not only that. Once I used it to charge a 18650 Li-Ion, initially it was showing charging with 1Amp, which wad as expected and actually what I bought it for. But ~4 hours later when I checked it again, it was still show charging at 1 Amp. I panicked and immediately pulled out the plug. The only good news were there was no other damage but the battery was stuffed up.
It might be a faulty one it sounds? There is detailed review of this charger here which looks decent:
https://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Charger%20Nitecore%20S…@jackychen: I was not the only one having the problem unfortunately. It works some of the time I have to say. But when it does not work properly, I've no idea what's going to happen. Searched and It seems to be widespread. Would have returned it if I found it out earlier.
I have the D4 as well and it has been great.
I was considering D4 as well but it only supplies 375mA when all four slots are full, so charging is just too slow.
Fast charging heavily degrades charge retention. Don't waste money on good rechargeables if you're going to ruin them with a fast charger.
With a 2600mah capacity that would be around 0.15C, I think you can easily do 0.5C on lithium ion without any issues.
I think fast charge rate would be something like 1.5C or around 4100mah for a 2600mah battery.
I'm in the market for a charger but the reviews on this are average, the D4 seems better but if you populate more then 1 battery the charge rate is really slow.
Going by the reviews it seems like the first slot may be the only accurate slot on this charger, seems just okay.
@Hank Scorpion: Totally agree. For AAA batteries D4 is perfectly fine but for AA batteries like the LADDA 2450mAh ones D4 is just way too slow.
these are good chargers but too many fake one online tho, hope seller's one is genuine.

A bit curious, what do you guys use your batteries for? I want batteries for remotes, and a wireless mouse but it's not enough to justify the price of adopting rechargeable batteries.
They're a lot more environmentally friendly, and are easily replaceable compared to inbuilt batteries which renders a lot of modern rechargeable devices functionally obsolete (Especially if they're not standard lithium ion cells or are difficult to access). So many things: torches, weather station, wireless headphones, portable bidet, vibrators.
I like that they don't leak.
Remotes
wireless keyboards
torches Led lenser, Arlec, CAT
Mains power detector
Digital torque adaptor
Multimeter
Toys, kids night light, portable lantern, laser gun sets.
Bike lights
Cyclone kit for radio etc…
Jaycar hand held UV black lightWifi door bells. Three in the doorbell, three in the charger.
I still have d4 and it is amazing

I'm surprised to be honest to read such failings.
I have I think a 5yr old Nitecore I4, basic as three led lights for each battery, but it's the best charger I've ever had from 18650 D/C/AA/AAA. I'm still using AA batteries purchased from 2013 and earlier VATA/Powertech. $26 it was amazing charger after trying consumer grade Arlec/Energiser and two so called reputable Asian brands from a battery specialist store. All eventually overheat or failed. Wasn't till I took up Vaping that I got onto Nitecore, after shying away from a C9000 (don't remember the Make just the model). I'd go Nitecore again but not if they're slipping QC.

I'm not familiar with this, but I'm assuming that it's the high-end of battery chargers. How would this improve my IKEA LADDA charging experience? I just use a regular rando duracell charger for my 4 AA's. Is this more of a jack of all trades thing where you have lots of control?
