Laptop Advice - Budget $1,000

Hi Everyone,

I have been looking for a while now trying to find a decent laptop deal, without one popping out that appears to be a home run. Hoping for some advice if the options below would be appropriate. I am looking for a laptop under 1k, mainly for work use as well as watching movies and some light gaming (more old-school games that don't need a high-performance machine).

Are either of these decent deals, and would they fit the bill?

If you know of any other current deals - please let me know!

Thanks in advance for your time.

Harvey Norman has deals on the Acer nitro series

Under 1k and with decent dedicated graphics cards.

Might be overkill if you only play old-school games but also gives the option for current gear if you want.

    • I agree these would be better. Stack with 5% hardly normal cards too if you can get them.

    • OMG!
OP was asking 4 real advice!

  • the first one looks alright with it's Anti glare screen. I think you could do better though. Either laptop will do more than you'll throw at it, so if you like it get it or just hang on a bit longer for back to school deals or another OZB deal pops up. I think you could do a slim light strong performer for your budget with a decent amount of ram and storage.
