Hygiene in Takeaway Stores. How Your Drinks Are Handled?

Couple times recently with frozen drink orders from Hungry Jacks the server has put the straws into the drinks then pushed the last bit down with their palm.

Yes they are wearing gloves but what have those gloves touched money, door knobs etc. I replaced the straws straight away. Next time you buy a drink anywhere take note of the procedure.

you won't be eating out if you monitor every process on handling of your food and beverages

the red rooster that i last went to, the guy in kitchen sweating like mad from wearing a mask on his neck, chit-chat and laughs out loud with his mate whilst handling the food, continues to wipe his sweat off the face with his hands and prep the food order

the quarter chook is a bit salty but still tastes great though

      Now you know why!

Straws at Hungry Jacks are not individually sealed and are given with ungloved hands….at least that's my experience.

    This is definitely unhygienic.

Their thickshakes are the best ,it's unfortunate they are lacking elsewhere.

Tens of thousands of years of eating random crap raw in the dirt, now we worry about someone touching a straw with a gloved hand.

    • Feel free to go back to living in the "tens of thousands of years". OP is a worry worm but this argument is funny.

Feel free to go back to living in the "tens of thousands of years"

There would be a lot less obesity, diabetes etc if we did.

        but this argument is funny.

        It's hardly an agument.

I've always been happy for my kids to play in the dirt and try to eat snails and stuff sand in their mouths. It was funny watching my youngest try to eat sand my wife didn't think so.

Exposure to those sort of everyday germs can certainly boost immunity levels setting kids up for the rest of their lives.

But as we are a society that can move from one side of the world to another easily and quickly some diseases etc can make a much bigger impact on your health.

can make a much bigger impact on your health.

How many times have you been sick from someone touching a hungry jacks straw with a gloved hand? I'll wager it's zero. You probably touch a million surfaces a day, then eat a sandwich without thinking.

Do we have to worry about every single tiny thing?

Um. Don't let them eat snails and slugs. They can carry parasites that are pretty dangerous, some guy became paralysed or brain dead because he ate one as a joke

  • Whenever I visit Hungry Jack's, straws are always put to the side by the cashier, not in the drinks. Can't remember if they're individually wrapped or not (I don't think so), but it's always in my case myself or anyone I'm with putting in the straws.

Don’t think I’ve been given a straw with any of my hjs delivery for a year or so now…

Do you still go there? Or was that the last straw?

O.P. needs to change user name to camel's back.

ask for no straw then, BYO reusable
    .

  • Have you seen how they squeeze the lemon/lime into a lemon lime bitters? Or when they put the lemon/lime into a Corona?
You kind of hope that the bar tender doesn't have fish fingers.

    • havent ordered one in ages but they usually use small tongs. No one wants to smell like lemon or lime all day or wash their hands excessively

  • Stress less ffs

  • while they think the burgers are better at hungry jacks, the drinks are served better at maccas. they usually just give u the straw wrapped on the side

  • Buy your own straw… discard their straw… in fact, tell them you don't need a straw. Use your own straw.

  • I never used straws not wrapped individually. But I have mysophobia so that's just me
