You do indeed. And for what you're offering, this price is decidedly average. It's made twice as average because of the requirement to buy two.
So your saying if we 'cheap out' and buy 2 steels online for $100 we are probably going to get poor quality? By that reckoning we are wasting our money and should instead buy something like this - http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Global-Diamond-Steel-G-3…
Why is this a bargain then ?
RRP is 80 ea. We discount them to 70 and this weekend only, 2 for 100. Free postage too.
This is a commercial product used by chefs.
I think this is a specialty item, and those likely to buy it would know whether it's good or not.
For average plebs like myself - I've got no idea.
Specialty item? Hard to say, but most of the chefs I know would be buying a known brand if they were wanting to be assured of quality.
Why would anyone need more than one steel, if they're good quality and last for a bit?

I doubt this product is superior to DMT's diamond steel, when DMT are known to have some of the best diamond surfacing in the world.
For a honing steel though, go for the 7 micron ceramic rod by DMT. For $100 you can by the Fine, Extra fine and Ceramic 12inch rods. This is not a bargain.

Not sure its a great bargain though, I bought my diamond steel for around $50 a while back and a quick Google search shows them ranging from $29-$60, if it was a brand I recognised it might be ok?
