TV or LED/LCD Display + Streaming Device?

Nowadays is a TV still needed? Can't LCD/LED display + streaming device replace TV, unless the TV reception part is thrown in for free.

    TV is not needed.
    Video input from streaming device works the same. Just connect it to the HDMI port. (like you would with a video card.)
