May be extra cost for insurance for sending an expensive item.
Nope, it's just sent Standard Australia Post, not even Express. That does not include insurance.
So probably extra cost for delicate handling.
Gloss black only, unfortunately. They list the transparent (AKA Lamy Vista) but it is still full price.
I think Peter's of Kensington might be better if you have eBay plus ($36 Delivered) + you might be able to use offers like PLUSEOY (which I wasn't able to test because I used that offer before). The checkout menu said "You already applied this code to an order." when I tried.
PoK also do stock fair number of fountain pen inks in bottles, which you need a converter for or you can wash the cartridge that came with the Lamy pen after you've finished using it with a syringe. Ink in the bottle kinda are cheaper in the long run. Cartridges are around, roughly speaking 1ml per cartridge, and bottles are normally around 30~50ml depending on the manufacturer.
That's a lot to pay for shipping for such a small item…
