Amazon Parcelpoint Delays Orders?

All the orders I've ordered and getting them delivered via Parcelpoint (bought at the beginning of Dec) have been delayed till Jan 2022. This includes items a few of the guys here bought and received already? WTF…its a whole month of waiting.

Anyone else have experiences with Amazon Parcelpoint? What is the deal with that? I've picked Parcelpoint so I don't have to wait at home, but now I can't even cancel the order or change the delivery address anymore.

  • Why do you hav to wait at home? Don't they just leave it somewhere safe?

    • i don't have a very secure building. i usually will get it delivered at home if i could, thats why i pick parcel point, but its been delaying 4 packages out of 5 by at least 3 weeks and more

    • With home delivery they sometimes drop it somewhere safe, sometimes they take it to the local post office, and I'm not always able to get it for a couple of days due to work hours. This annoys me most when I'm home, they haven't knocked and still left the failed delivery card.
I've had a delivery delivered to the wrong house (photo proff showed it was not my location - Thankfully Amazon refunded me without much hassel)

I know the actual missing and stolen parcels are a small amount compared to the successful ones, but I find the aus post boxes much easier to pick up from than the post office.

      • I don't live near any of the lockers…which is the best situation, 24/7 delivery and pick up.

My local AusPost is a pain too, they hate parcels. Basically give you death stares if you are trying to pick up form them. I usually don't want to go to the postoffice unless I have to. But I don't have any other options except use the collection points.

Toll and some delivery company use the 7/11 lockers.

I didn't know Amazon would leave the boxes at local PostOffice.

  • Parcel Point is just a postage service, not an Amazon service.

Get on Amazon chat if you want to cancel the purchase. You can't cancel the order via your profile portal once it gets transferred to 'shipped' status. However chat consultant can request the postage service return the item to them.

That way I save on hassle of returning the item myself for refund.

I've done the above a few times.

    • -1

the status hasn't changed, its not officially "dispatched", its still under "ordered", but I can't cancel it via the profile either…i think there is a time limit too.

the amazon chat will "investigate" where my order is. I can't deal with it right now, I will leave it till Jan, they might just keep delaying it, and I'll get my money back then.

But its ridiculous that parcel point add a few weeks to the delivery, and amazon doesn't even letting their customer know.

      • Yes, annoying as my experience with at least Amazon delivery is a day or two (to the door).

        (I didn't down vote you)

        • probably Amazon bots LOL

    • How do I find out if there are Amazon lockers nearby? There are a few delivery lockers in my local 7/11 but I don't know if Amazon uses them? Can I get them to deliver to a locker?

I don't have any AustPost lockers near by either.

The ParcelPoint is open Mon to Sat near me, but I think they are not accepting anything until Jan.

        • thanks for the link.

the parcelpoint is showing up as well.

i can't change the delivery address to a amazon hub without cancelling the order

            • @justdigi: they won't. been on the phone all morning. They call it advance stage dispatch?!?!

So, I've cancelled the order and made a re-order, to have delivered to an amazon hub.

the other item, will have to wait.

  • I've had mixed results with ParcelPoint. Usually good but depends on the ParcelPoint pick up shop. Once I received a SMS to collect a parcel on the day Sydney went into lockdown but the shop had closed. Emailed the shop but no response. Also, Ebay and ParcelPoint but they could not help. Finally collected when the shop reopened 3 months later.

    • thats awful… and thats why they should invest in 24 hr lockers, its cheaper and since internet shopping is only growing, it make sense to invest.

      • Agree with that. 24hr lockers much more convenient.
