Maybe 1 in 10 people seem to use my door bell, are you having a similar result? I've seen new houses not even come with one.

So for all you know, OP's stats apply to you and you're missing 90% of your visitors?
In which case, I don't care. If the visitors were important enough; they will press the doorbell. I have never missed a parcel delivery as all of the delivery people have used the bell. All family visitors or guests have used the bell. Maybe the 90% I am missing are the door to door salesman; so no great loss there. :)
They do sometimes, but it's irrelevant as the Ring Doorbell notifies me when there is someone at the door regardless of whether they press the button or not.

Are you talking about Uber eats etc? I've noticed these days it's really hit or miss. About 70% in my experience don't ring the doorbell, the others do. Like the others have said, Ring Doorbell or camera systems help
When I was selling a couple of things on Gumtree, people would come to my house and text me to say they were out front. Why not just knock on the door ffs?
i've had sellers request this a number of times, as they're got children asleep.
I'm one of those people that text. Like godofpizza said, never know with kids/pets waking up or other family members answering the door.
Also, some door bells are super loud which scares me and I am just outside thinking omg, its still ringing, please stop
I don't have a bell, my sofa is about 4 metres from the front door if I'm not sitting there then I can usually hear them knocking.
nope, been here 10 years & no one has rung the bell as yet (it's an actual donger bell, makes a hell of a racket)

People don't tend to knock on the screen door, so yes, the doorbell. However, where my computer is stationed at I can easily hear if someone is coming to the door, so I greet them there before they ring the doorbell.
I have a doorbell with a camera and normally its press but sometimes when a delivery comes they knock on the door very loudly don't why they don't press the bell it be much easier to press the button.
Talked to a deliver driver once & they said they mostly knock as many doorbells don’t work and it wastes their time otherwise
Same, 1 out of 10 ring the doorbell, 1 knocks on the door, 2 knock on the screen door, the other 6 are posties who scream "delivery!" through the door and leave.

Door Dash drivers love using the doorbell at 2am, even though (or perhaps because) I put a note on the order saying "DO NOT ring doorbell, as PEOPLE ARE SLEEPING".
no don't have a doorbell. I'm usually in Lounge near the door so can hear a knock

No, ours is fixed to the wall next to the front door.
Too much hassle to remove it so others can use it.

I have a door bell near a big brass door knocker and they all insist on knocking on the front window next to the door… Every. God damn. Time.
