You guys seen the footage of it running 8k with raytracing on ultra settings it's glorious

    https://youtu.be/Gbuy_wKGsVI

    • What kind of GPU do I need to run at that setting? One that gonna cost me $5K, an arm and a leg?

      • RTX 3090 I think around 3.5k lol

  • Just bought this on PS4 for $9 .. interesting how platforms differ

    • It was free for all PS4 account holders at some point last year; I grabbed it even without owning a PS4 console which was a superb deal

    • Cheers.

    • Thanks heaps for the deal this is so good for someone like me who refuses to use epic.

  • My Epic account was created when I was in Indonesia and it shows 50% off with the price IDR 104,999 (About AUD 10).

  • I tried this game for about 5 hours and I just couldn't get into it.

When does this game get good? The game just felt just like Assasin's Creed but with robot dinosaurs.

Not liking a game is not the same as a game being bad.

      • I don't mind if the game has a slow start for the sake of the narrative.

Usually by 5 hours in. The game would hook me. Whether thats by gameplay or story.

The setting, scenary and monsters is creative. But everything else seems painfully average. Another case of a game being "open world" when it didn't need to be. Making it a shorter, more linear focused action adventure game with semi-open hub areas would have been a better choice I think (eg Tomb Raider, Mass Effect, Zelda, God of War).

    • A lot of people found this game boring. Reddit is full of it. The missions and crafting are insanely repetitive.

      • Sometimes, you want just that. Busy life and pick up random save point in-game and remembering as little as possible to get by.

    • I enjoyed it from the start. Felt assasins creed was boring after the 1st, each to their own.

The skills evolve and new weapons come.

I played on one of the harder difficulties, could be a playthrough on normal is not challenging?

I'm not going to convince you to like a game you don't.

    • I felt the same on my first play. I even pushed to about the midway point and got bored. I played again and ramped up the difficulty to max and it was much more enjoyable. Personally, I felt the combat the best part of this game.

  • I grabbed this, and then instantly remembered that Epic is giving away free games every day for the next week or so and that Horizon Zero Dawn might be one of the free ones.

If it doesn't come up as one of the daily free games, this deal should still be available till 6th January (technically 3am AEDT on the 7th).
