I Am Thinking of Setting up Amazon Webstore

Hi All

I am thinking of setting up Amazon webstore, however I am new to this stuff and was hoping if fellow OzBargainers who are doing this or have done this in the past may advise or guide with the high level steps. Understand the product uniqueness and market trend, however looking for some key things to consider and how much capital is required.

Thanks

When you are setup don't forget to list all your items here with a 5% discount code.

  • I can't help you, but good luck.

What are you aiming to sell? Marked up Chinese junk products or something unique?

    • Might've just caught the entire market there

So many get rich quick videos on amazon these days, start your research there?

    Have done this myself,
The onboarding process is an absolulte nightmare for one
Secondly they take upwards of 15% of your sales, will push you to discount during their sales events and bombard you with "fufilled by amazon" set up requests which adds more costs to your bottom line
We lasted 4 months before we closed our amzon store and switched to Ebay only.

Unless you are an experienced online seller with something to sell that no-one else has or you have very good contacts in places like China that you can drop ship from the best place to start is Gumtree & Facebook to get your feet wet and then consider eBay.

You are playing with the big boys once you try selling on Amazon.

I once tried to setup an Amazon web store. It was the worst user experience I had ever experienced. I remember being gobsmacked at how unintuitive it was.

    Good luck.

  • If you’ve got a unique product that starts to sell well amazon is going to copy it and undercut you.
