I've mostly played in VR on PS4 where it is great fun. The single player campaign is probably only 8 hours or so, more of an extended tutorial for the multiplayer but for $9 you can't really say it's not value.
It is also on Game Pass, though maybe only with Ultimate through EA Play
It's not bad. Decent. Campaign was fun with the exception of a few missions.
The VR is a wonderful and immersive experience, although somewhat pointless in a tie fighter.
I used to play X-Wing on PC and enjoyed this game for sure. Def worth it, cause it's at least 2/3 the game X-Wing was, not bad for console.
PSA, it’s on EA Play / Game Pass Ultimate.
Very good game, it’s the spiritual successor to the X-Wing / Tie Fighter series.

This game is under rated.
It's pretty close to as good as X-Wing and Tie Fighter, like a lite version but the closest thing in a while. Surprisingly easy to play with controller. I recommend it especially at this price.
Best if you're old, played those original 2 and want a 75% as good experience without needing to sit at a PC with a joystick anymore.
I destroyed so many ball mouse back in the day playing those games. Classic.
Yeah it was hard to play with mouse, though joystick kinda hurt my elbow. It's almost unplayable now the resolution is so criminally low.
(Yet Doom still looks ok at the same res)
Squadrons does ramp up the difficulty too, I think I'm on the 8'th mission and it's so god damn hard, like old X-Wing, rest has been comparitively easy tho.
Still overpriced… even if it's free.
The original X-Wing is the best.
How can an actual X-Wing fan, mock this game, when it's one of the closest things we've got to it, in many many years and it's also playable on consoles to boot and controls and plays pretty well.
This game is a deal for any X-Wing or Tie fan under $15
Lower expectations, be pleasantly surprised.
Seems to be only available for $20 minimum now.

That is cheap, is this game decent? Would you recommend it to someone who used to play XWing back in the day on PC?
Edit: reviews seem to say so, although many are from the PC version and specifically using VR
