I'm hoping to setup a home surveillance system and am in need of an IP camera. I need some recommendations. The camera I would like would be something like:
- Cost: Up to around $400, per camera. Cheaper is obviously better, but I don't want to sacrifice quality.
- Brand: Doesn't matter, but I would prefer something with a known brand, if that's at all possible.
- Network: Must be wireless with WPA2 encryption. If it has ethernet, bonus.
- Image: 1/3" SONY Color CCD. I don't want CMOS because I really want something that will deliver high quality images.
- Chipset: SONY DSP
- TV Lines: At least 420
- Lens: Veri-Focal, if possible. Not sure of the mm… maybe 2 to 11mm? I'd have to think about this one.
- Zoom: Optical
- LUX Level: 0.01lux without having to use infra-red lighting would be fantastic.
The most important part is that this camera needs to be able to connect to my LAN and be detected by a PC as a standard camera, where I can grab images via my own software. Thus its drivers need to be standard.
Anyone know of any good, reputable stores where I can pick up something like this?
I'm in Sydney, so a showroom in the area where I can grill the salesmen would be great, but if it's out of state, recommended and can be shipped quickly, that's fine too.
Help! :)
heard good things about the Axis IP cameras, could be worth a look to see if they meet your specs:
