Cotton is a natural fiber which is widely used in clothing because it absorbs water and moisture easily; as the Elastane, it is a man made fiber mainly used in sportswear as it is durable and able to stretch and moves with the muscles and give them enough room to move, it also allows water to evaporate quite quickly.
By mixing 95% Cotton and 5% Elastane, you get the benefit of both, comfort with a better stretch and more durable fabric.
This fabric construction is usually 30% to 40% more expensive then just Cotton.
