  • Thanks OP. Hope the rebate hasn't been exhausted as it's been running for a while.

    • The webpage is still active and there doesn't seem to be any message about limits, I'd say it's fine.
A nice find OP for those who need it but it's likely cheaper if you shop around and self install.

        • Must have glossed over that๐Ÿ˜…. I suppose it's a case of if the page is up the rebates are available then?

@Spendmore: T&C's say limit of 600, and when I did mine it took 4 weeks to get it approved and then the money back.
Also after about 3 weeks I got a email from Water corp saying it has been popular and they are busy processing them and will process mine as soon as they can.
            So get in quick.

            • @gamcna: Wow 600 is a lot less than I expected, I guess this is more to raise people's awareness about this tech than hoping they would have any impact on saving water. The big problem is industry anyway they consume and waste so much.

@Spendmore: Agreed, our council was still watering our dog park in winter even tho it was flooded.

  • Must be installed by a specific person?

To be eligible for the rebate, you must purchase an eligible weather smart product and have the product set up at your property by a Waterwise Garden Irrigator.

Which will probably cost more than the rebate is worth / just doing it yourself…

    • Correct they give you a checklist document that they sign to submit

        Thanks for confirming.
Pass for me, real tightasses do their own retic

It doesn't need to be installed by anyone special, I did mine myself and then got the Waterwise guy to do the setup (which is only a check that it has been programmed correctly and is connected to the internet)

You do need to call a few of the Waterwise garden irrigators as they do charge a lot differently, I found one company that sold me the B-hyve smart controller (for $200) and did the onsite setup/check ($100)

      • Can you share the company name?
This is perfect timing for me as my old controller just started playing up

The Retic & Landscape Shop, they are South of the River but may go North.

I put mine through the other day and was told limited spots are available. The landscaper said they were told not to advise customers they would be gaurenteed a rebate now

The question is, can I connect any of the controllers to Home Assistant?

    • They list the 4 eligible controllers, Google them?

      • There is double that number. I could but I am going looking at Christmas lights with the family and don't have the time right now. Cause, family commitments seem to trump IoT devices. I mean I don't understand but they seem to think so :D

Figured if someone already knew off the top of their head it might be a quick answer rather than digging into the technical specs of them because HA is too niche for them to specifically list. Also the lack of exact name matching products by Google reduced the effectiveness of a quick Google.

        • Haha fair call. FWIW I got the Rachio 3 from Amazon and it has smart weather + full Google integration, bloody awesome device
