So, I'm about to go ahead and spoil some stuff. This is your last warning to turn away.
Ready.
Set.
Go.
So, I decided to go to a midnight screening of the movie. And wow, it was great! Far more focussed on spiderman without having help from absolutely everyone, or some huge dependence on Tony Stark. And by the end of the movie it really feels like a soft reboot.
Seeing the old villains back, and the old spideys show up was proper special, and the movie didn't feel too bloated for it. It did a really good job at honouring the last by creating something new.
I feel the whole premise for how the spell had to be played out was pretty shallow, but I forgave that pretty quickly because the rest of the movie was executed so well.
I won't go on a long ramble about what I enjoyed, but can discuss more in comments if people are interested.
Oh, one thing I will say - is maybe I'm a grinch, but whole cinemas screaming at reveals, and clapping entries got really annoying when I wasn't able to actually hear what the actors were saying anymore because people were too busy collectively yelling. Z
So, what did you think?
And for a little fun, what do you rate it?
I didn't realise people still went to the cinemas anymore.
