I’m not sure I would call it a high end TV. That moniker is typically reserved for OLED’s.
It’s high end for a current gen lcd in terms of features. Not high end as it still packs advertisements into its software.
IPS panel is the deal breaker…..
QN90A has a VA, not IPS. QN85A uses ADS/IPS Proof
for all sizes here in Australia?
Did some quick googling; someone on WP suggested only the 50" and 85" are VA and the rest are ADS/IPS whereas it's VA all the way through in the USA. And UK/EU appears to be slightly different too. Damn Samsung, why do you have to make it so complicated!
QN90A uses a VA panel though.
Heaps of debate about this on Whirpool forums. Seems all but the 50 inch QN90A are ADS/IPS panels
That's what I heard too.
No Dolby Vision
Made in China or Vietnam?
No Samsung TV supports Dolby Vision. They're too cheap to pay the licensing fee.
No Samsung TV supports Dolby Vision.
At that price range of TVs no dolby vision 😒
What's dolby vision and why do I need it?
Waiting patiently for the 85 to drop 👍
65QN90A is indeed ADS Panel (50/85 is VA) - I was ignorant to solely rely on Rtings..
I was contemplating what to get for 75inch…then and bought 75QN90A.
It had good viewing angle so I was surprised at first then
found out yesterday that APAC variant was bloody ADS.

Can any 100% confirm if the QN90A has 1x hdmi 2.1 inputs like the US or 4 x hdmi 2.1 inputs like the UK version?.
Can get one for $2600 through work discount or wait until boxing day to see if the LG 65” C1 comes down again to $2888
Only HDMI 4 input has 2.1. The others are 2.0.
Purely from pricing, I am assume the 65'' Bravia X90J is inferior & not in the same league to this?
If yes, what would Sony's answer be to this QN90A?
I bought this TV after initial concerns about the ADS panel. It looks great and the blacks levels are so low that I don't think I'm missing out much over a OLED (no issues with the contrast ratio) and that this gets BRIGHT (unlike OLED), good for our sunny living room.
Did you try Netflix, can you get HDR10? No Dolby Vision.
There are still shows that are available in HDR on Netflix, but since Netflix uses Dolby Vision, I think that this TV just takes regular HDR and does a little extra processing to try improve the image. To me, it still looks great, although Amazon Prime HDR10 shows still look a little better.
I have only just found out that tvs need calibrating, according to rtings the lg c1's pre calibrating is dreadful compared to the qn90. How important is this calibrating sh.t?
Looks like this deal has ended, back to $4K :(
Good deal look likes catch.com is also price matching them ..
