Happy with my boost. Using for Nearly 2 yrs now. 👍

    • When your first 12mth ran out, did you just renew to another 12mth at the full price? Or do something to obtain a good discount like this

      • +3

Okey thats the important question. I first bought a 300 dollars boost sim, called customer service and asked them to kindly renew my plan because I have $300 sim. The customer service guy was RUDE and told me he could not do it (Disappointing). I than bought a $4 kogan sim, ported on kogan, than straight back to Boost as a brand new customer, and activated my $300 sim pack (that I bought for roughly $219.00). And that my friend, worked like a charm. 😁😁

        • When you said "…….straight back to Boost….", was that within the same day?

          • +1

@w02m08w: 5 mins. I was amazed too, but it worked fine. Once my Kogan sim was activated, I ported to Boost.

            • @sedi: Thanks mate. I hope it works for me too….fingers crossed. Mine is expiring on the 29th of Jan 2022.

        • The same thing happened to my mother, the customer service man on the phone was incredibly rude. I've found it much easier to do through the online chat and I've found it uses the Telstra online chat team which are much more helpful and friendly.

I got a deal that included another year of Boost and a month of Vodafone for free for the transition.

        This is a good deal.

    • Same almost up to getting a second one within 45 days too. Sounds like will have to port out to a $2 Sim and back again.

Cashback and or office works beqt be handy

If I am an existing Boost customer who’s 12mth plan is about to run down, what’s the simplest way for me to get back onto another Boost 12mth plan at good value? i.e. getting a “$200 / 12mth” for these discounted prices such as $153

  • port to vodafone (with extra 3.8$) you can have a vodafone 30$ sim card which have 40GB of data enough for you to use for say 2 weeks. and then port back.

    • You mean Vodafone is offering the $30 prepaid plan (with 40GB of data) for $3.80?

  • +11

    $148 - PDEC12

    $220 - PLUSMKP

  • The expired $250 for 240gb was a better deal.Don’t trust chat to give you the best deal when you ask them. They won’t mention these on seller deals.

  • You can actually use starter plan to recharge through chat - did this today. Took ~20 minutes. Had to use the new sim though…

Paid $150 for the 12months plan, got 140GB usable in 12 months + the kind gentlemen actually added the remaining data from old sim (~30GB) into my account but must be used in 28 days.

    Great service from boost.

I did these "recharge" using chat last year.

    .

    • I will try Chat next time. Boost call centre employees are rude and simply refuse to help you regarding credit transfers.

      • I did online chat not voice chat FYI

I did these last year but unsure if they no longer support and there seems to be mixed information about it so do at your own risk.

        .

        • Thanks. Sure its worth giving a try 😁

        • I need to do this tomorrow actually - how did you ask (ie what opening question) did you pass through to them in your chat?

          • @kickling: … nevermind, i went through the chat and did it.

            Took 30 minutes.

Told the operator I bought a $200 sim kit and wanted to recharge/transfer the credit onto my existing service. They said I have to activate the new sim kit and get a new number then they can port my existing Boost number across.

            1) Open chat. Tell them you need help with recharging using a new sim kit.
            2) Activate sim kit to get a new ph number.
            3) Advise operator of new ph number and they will port your number across.

I hope that helps make it clear for anyone running this process in the future.

        • Do you need to wait till the current 365 days is up or can they possibly add it to your account a month out?

Last time I was on the chat the girl seemed quite nice so ymmv

  • +1

Wish they would start offering 5G.

  • Thanks, OP. Just made a purchase last night.

    • Did you get your email receipt yet, and when please? I'm asking cos I ordered at around 130pm today and it's 300pm now and I still haven't got my email receipt.

      • +1

Yeah, I did receive it right away.

        • Thanks so much. I'm trying to ring their mobile number and they never answer 😒. I left my number as well but didn't get a call back either…

Edit: The receipt went to my spam folder. All good now, they have replied thru text message…

  • Anyone price matched at ow?

    • +3

I tried at OW Prahran but they declined as there is a discount voucher/code to be applied for the price. So i got them to beat the $156 price at https://enjoyebuy.com.au/products/boost-mobile-prepaid-sim-c…
and ended up paying $148.20 and now have the sim in hand immediately.

      • Thays not bad, thinking I could try that too, 11-12gb a month would be enough if got wifi at home

      • +1

Just picked one up, they had to check that the website included free delivery but all good. Another USD$3 off with the crypto card :).

Expiry 19/03/22 but planning on activating before 1/02. Will see if they can add to my current one, or allow a week before other one runs out. Not sure if lose any current quota.

        Thanks

      • You can use our website link to ask OW to beat as we are cheaper :-)
and tell them we were owns optus store in Pran Central 2 year before and maybe they can give you better price.

      • Thanks for sharing this, got the price match (:

  • If you need a cheap change over, you can move to Aldi mobile for $5.
TBH - the network is fine, the customer service is pretty crap.
I had issues when i first started with the bonus data they offered. That took a few phone calls to sort it out.

It would be nice if they offered existing customers a special for staying.
on my first recharge, i got it at the same rate. $150.
I don't use much data as all the places i use my phone generally has data spots.
With some of the new players coming in Coles etc, there are cheaper plans

  • Boost is pretty good though and on the Telstra network at least. I wouldn't bother with less than 365 days, not worth risking losing your number etc.

Agree would be nice if they made it easier to add credits for existing customers. I am almost tempted to get the lower GB option, nice not to run out thou

    • The feature that is important and most useful to me is that I can receive SMS whilst overseas at no additional cost. I was previously with Belong and they didn't support this feature. Would be good to know if Optus-based providers provides this feature?

Helps when some website requires 2FAA….

      .

      • Ohh.. I am using boost for a while but didn't know they have international SMS receiving service

      • I am currently with Optus prepaid (switching to Boost soon), they never charged me for receiving SMS while i am overseas.

        • Just so you know, Boost no longer offers intl roaming so you won't able to receive any SMS at all.

          • @polstralian: Thanks polstralian….I have already purchased one….😪..But thanks 🙏 for the info …now i will make backup plans before i travel next time.

          • @polstralian: I always buy a local data Sim, much better
Thailand etc. Mostly just need the data tho, but saves swapping sims to receive. Shame they don't offer it, still thought it includes calls to all the same countries
