This is one of your favorite drinks? Mines pepsi

    • -1

LA Cola is where it's at

    • -6

This mixed with Pepsi, now that’s a good drink. Even better if it’s Pepsi Max.

Thanks OP bought 1 for a last minute Christmas present

  • Thanks OP got 1

  • Good price, can be hard to get at places like Dan Murphys. Generally I am not a huge fan of peated whisky but this one is pretty good.

  • got 2 thx OP.

Describes itself as 'one of the smokiest whiskeys in the world' so be prepared for that if you're not aware going in.

    • A Lagavulin fan I know described it as "thinking whisky". For pondering.

    • Not the smokiest IMO (I find this would be Ardberg) but it's definitely up there

    Please and thankyou!

  • Thanks OP - just ordered one, since the current is about half done! Not the best price but decent enough.

A Lagavulin post and no mention of Ron Swanson!

OOS? Error when adding to cart / buy now

  • +1

dang it! Just missed it. Why did I not read the alert sooner!

Mine was simply failing to add to cart or go to checkout, no error message. But now a few minutes later the item has updated to $129 and goes through :(

  • +1

    Looks like it's gone.

  • Is this one tyre fire in a hospital like Caol Ila?

    • more than one tire, but not a Kuwaiti tyre mountain fire

either way, still way better than the 8yo

  • I find this quite mild and not smoky at all. If you want a strong and smoky taste, Laphroaig triple wood is great.

    • +1

Ever tried Octomore by Bruichladdich? Super-heavily peated whisky by Islay's masters of unpeated. It's incredible.

      • +1

No I haven’t but I’ll give it a go! Thanks for the suggestion

      • Smokehead is quite smoky as well. One of my favorite daily drinks

    • +1

Yeah its not super smoky… but it has a nice balance of smoke and everything else that makes for a good Islay imo.

For me this is about the best you can get at this price point and even 2-3x that.

      • Yeah a lagavulin 16 at 100 bucks is a no brainer, especially if you’re a fan of the Islay scotches.

        • Agreed. And ardbeg corryvrekkan (sp)
          And the lagavulin 12

Reply for more whisky recommendations… It's just my opinion though.

    • Yeah, it's one of the smoothest Islays around. Talisker and Ardbeg are the smoke monsters, or Octomore for thermonuclear levels of peat.

  • Used to be a die hard Laphroaig Quarter Cask enthusiast until I tried this.

  • This far down and no Parks and Recreation references?

I hear that the Lagavulin 16 year old pairs well with bacon-wrapped shrimp. That's my number one favourite food wrapped around my number three favourite food.

      • what about number 2?

        • Bacon

          • @Arch9896:

bacon-wrapped shrimp. That's my number one favourite food wrapped around my number three favourite food.

            1. Shrimp (bmxr is clearly not Australian)
            2. Bacon

unless bmxr is wrapping Shrimp around Bacon. It is possible.

Oooo my favorite!! Not for those that don't enjoy a smokey peated texture - smoother than others but that flavor is there

  • Missed out !

  • Really annoyed I missed this! Favourite scotch by a mile.
