Getting your marketing intern to astroturf forums (particularly these ones, where OzBargainers seem to love a fast food deal) is a pretty good strategy. Unethical, but a good strategy.

I wonder if they are paid per hour or per post?

      • Can't tell if you're joking. It's very unethical, and regulated by the ACCC, and extremely unlikely Hungry Jacks would Astroturf on a free forum.

  • Glad you had a good experience. Store specific?

Am tempted to try, but the closest HJ to me (3043, VIC) doesn't give much confidence.

Did someone say JFC? Actually no.

None the less, a big hi to all at Hungry Jack's marketing team.

Either bots getting smarter & HJ Marketing getting dumber

Unlike the OP who joined OzB just to sing the praises of HJ, and probably will be a 1 post wonder, a bit suss IMO, an honest review follows.

I had one a couple of weeks ago and it was the worst tasteless burger I've had for years.

They must have forgotten to put the sauce/Mayo on it because cardboard tastes better.

At least the birds enjoyed it.

    • I saw the ads/press in the lead up and thought it looked pretty good! It was not. Limpid.

  • Best day ever!

Zinger Burgers are #1 tho so it can't be the best

I do like it too. Maybe my local store made it really good.

    • Same, I had one of the Classic burgers and it was pretty good.
I'd say better than McChicken, but not as good as KFC.

  • Agree with most of the posters above. Save your money and just get a KFC burger. Crunchier and more flavour.

    • but their web site says

"Big, thick, crunchy and juicy fried chicken fillet, lettuce and Signature Spicy Sauce on a toasted soft brioche bun."

In OZB fashion, you've got grounds for a refund if it's not:
      - big (circumference - assume at least as round as a whopper)
      - thick (height, at least double a whopper)
      - crunchy (zinger would be a good comparison)
      - juicy (just in case it's over cooked)

I'm going to get one, just to see if i can hold them to their claims and see how many times they can re-make it

  • I got to try it now - cheat day Saturday come at me bro

  • Give it a miss, looks and probably tastes like a butt scouring pad

  • OP - What's your view on Vouchers on phone vs Printed?

lol the moderator had to translate original post to English for OP

  • Mine was weird, like fish texture, and not that great. Red Rooster's is better.

I’ve heard this is pretty good but haven’t tried it yet.

    From parts of a chicken

It’s probably about 12% offal 18%ground feather and chicken feet and 80% newspaper rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried in 6 month old reused oil by a 15 year old with no hygiene standards that just dropped it on the floor and threw it into a burger for you.

Its the floor flavouring that gives it that something extra in the crunch.

    • +1

      That adds up to 110%

      • Just in case there’s a shortage of offal and feather 😂

        Also, FWIW
        I love these burgers

  • clearly an ad op has not even said another word.

well, i followed through and tried one last night … the chicken was good, the bun was a bit strange, but the sauce was the strange part … it tasted like supercharge sauce with pickles …

went across the driveway and got a kfc zinger with supercharge as a comparison … supercharged zinger, double supercharge sauce, no mayo (ended up being about the same amount of sauce as HJ's)

    chicken:
HJ - much bigger, about double the size, good crumbing, not soggie, not quite as crunchy as zinger, good seasoning, moist!
KFC - small, zinger crumbing, a little dry compared, we all know the seasoning

    bun
HJ - a little gluggy and heavy, like they tried to make it more filling with extra flour
KFC - small, a little too sweet, why do they put seeds on it?

    Salad
HJ - lettuce, hardly any of it, cut consistently, seems ok
KFC - lettuce, too much of it, a few big chunks, about normal

    Sauce
    HJ - supercharged with pickes
    KFC - supercharged :)

    Price
    HJ - 8.95
    KFC - 5.95

  • I like well love mcd spicy chicken burger, the bun is nice, not thick like the others, tasty and the chicken is just yum, moist and spicy..chisrpty, its thigh so its really tender and moist. i find the sacuse way better, HJ one is so thick and sickly after awhile i hate the mayo but also hate their supercharged as well..

    • maccas spicy is yum!
HJ tender crisp burgers were great too so not sure why they needed something new.

Haven't tried HJ fried chicken but not a fan huge pieces of chicken in a burger.

Well done hj, this viral post had me try one today for lunch.

Remembered why I hate my local hj, minimum care through drive through, stuffed up order, long waits, and half filled chips.

The burger? Looks nothing like the advertising, way to greasy to have any crunch. Won’t be back.
