  If you find the history of videogames interesting, I highly recommend Masters of Doom, the story of Id software.

  The Making of Prince of Persia (by Jordan Mechner himself) was fascinating too, and so was Console Wars, the story of Nintendo vs Sega through the 90s, if you loved those games (and I loved those even more than Doom, myself). But Masters of Doom was just so well written and researched, and a more fascinating story.

    +1 to this, masters of doom is a great book!, Console wars is pretty interesting too, i was a kid back then, so to understand all things that happened during that time and why sega kind of disappeared was very interesting.

    On a different topic, i would also anyone who downloaded MP3s in the 90s to read "How Music got Free" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_Music_Got_Free
