There is a comma dingus. It says "Won't rust, naturally BPA free."

      • Akshully, it's a semicolon.
        Pushes up glasses

        • No, the Amazon page reads " Won’t rust, naturally BPA-free. ".
Maybe not the best sentence in the world, though there is no semicolon.

This is good and it a 100g gas cartridge fits in it. For a company that makes tools Stanley makes good campware, i also have their Adventure Prep & Eat Fry Pan Set.

      Someone mentioned in the reviews:

"Also a standard 1L french press plunger fits the diameter nicely, so you can turn this pot into a french press coffee maker just by adding a plunger."

I'll definitely be giving this a shot, I'd have no excuse not to go backpacking with good coffee

Add something to the cart that’s out of stock to get you over the minimum for free shipping.
Once you’ve checked out and paid, cancel the other item. You’ll still get free shipping on this ;)

    • +8

Always feel dirty when i use this little trick.

    • +2

How do you add an out of stock item? It won't let me.

      • Good question. Never tried this but could you use the same approach but instead you add multiple quantities and then cancel the surplus quantity?

      • Pick something that doesn't ship for a while.

    • wow

    • Doesn't have to be out of stock item, it can be any item, then just cancel it immediately after.

    • Mind blown.

I have this and it is good.

ffs. paid full price a month ago…..

Do you recommend? Have you had a chance to use it yet?

      • +3

it's only useful for boiling a cup of tea. I wouldn't cook in it at all unless you are desperate as it is tall and narrow so won't really sit on a burner safely, you would need to hang it.

If you wanted to take less stuff with you, i'd say save the money and get the larger set with the pan as it would be more useful. If you just want some cups then get this - maybe 2 minute noodles or the army food would suit this.

    • +4

Get another, then between the two you'll get ~ 25% off!

  • Seems a bit small? What do people cook in this?

  • +1

    Not sure about lightweight….

  • It says you can cook on stoves or grills, what about straight in the fire? Say for a quick cuppa

    • +1

Yes I've used it on a bunsen burner

    • +1

You can but they probably don't want to encourage it as people might hurt themselves and sue.

  • It's small footprint but relatively tall, feels like letting the burner heat away. I'm talking hiking conditions, where you carry that 100g gas cartridge somebody mentioned before.

  • +4

I've had one of these for a few years, you can easily fit 2 packs of mi goreng noodles in there with a small can of tuna for the ultimate hiking breakfast.

The cups are pretty solid too.

  • +3

This kit is featured on just about every US-based survivalist YouTube channel. I so want it but don't have a use for it as I'd curl up into a ball if I didn't have Internet access for more then a day.

  • -2

No heat exchanger, no insulation, no wind protection = waste of money.

  • +1

i love these things, great for a simple hiking food setup if you leave the cups at home. its true a 100g gas can, cleaning rag and stove fit inside. a long titanium spoon complements it nicely - though make sure its polished at the end coz matte feels weird.

it is tall, and sitting on a stove its very tall indeed, so need to make sure its sturdy when cooking/heating water but if you want a cheap and lightweight wind shield just make one out of a bit of bunnings' extra thick alfoil

  • +4

Been using for years and enjoy the youtube hacks from the hiking channels. Replace plastic tab with keyring, drill two holes to use a fish spreader as a bail. Works well with the cheap BRS stove, tiny carry bag also has enough space for mini BIC lighter. Only use it for hot drinks and boiling water for meals as cleaning burnt rice off the bottom sounds like torture.

Been looking around for ideas for a pan or skillet, only use a cast iron pan or a zebra pot at the moment, stanley or pathfinder stainless skillets or MSR non stick all look nice but are pricey, might try out an IKEA or Kmart pan, recently picked up an old duel fuel coleman stove
