    It's partly membership but primarily if you don't return the DVD on time they can charge you another day or finally change for the DVD if not returned at all. It's nothing sinister, it's a great system.

  I was hesitant with Oovie at first a few months ago (swipe credit card on free rental), but now I use it frequently! It's nearly becoming my routine to walk to my local post office, to pay my monthly Telstra Home line bill (with old shrap coins) & then pop over the road for a free Oovie.
