Help with Setting up a Karaoke Machine

Hi I'm looking to set up a karaoke machine at home.

So what I'm thinking is I connect my computer and a few mics as input to an audio mixer which combines the 2 channels and outputs to a tv soundbar. The soundbar is a Sony HT-RT40 which has an analog input (3.5 mm jack) and an optical jack (never used optical before so not very familiar with this). If anyone is experienced in this, is this the right approach? I tried a software audio mixer before but the latency between mic input and speaker output was terrible.

Also any suggestions for audio mixer models and mics? (wired/wireless idm) Currently looking at a Yamaha MG06X

TIA

    Yamaha MG06X is excellent mixer

I use Behringer wireless dual mics ULM302MIC connected to the mixer via XLR cables
And then the mixer connected to PC speakers via RCA to 3.5mm cable

I connect the TV to soundbar via optical cable, and stream Youtube for Karaoke

I recently changed the mics to wired Shure SM58 as an upgrade.
But the Behringer mics work and sound fine too

    • so just to clarify, you go from mixer (3.5mm) to speakers (RCA)?

      • Sorry not RCA. I use 2x phones jack (1/4") out (from mixer) to 1x 3.5mm jack to the PC speaker

It all depends what your speaker is capable to accept.

I’m considering magic sing e5, about $1000 locally otherwise about $800 os.

In regards to the music itself, I've used Karafun before & highly rate it. Reasonably inexpensive subscription options and just works. You can also do fancy stuff like set up a second display with the running playlist/monitor window etc., and give the ability for people to browse for songs or even genres from a mobile device using their app, then add them to the queue.

    • Does it have a built in exclusion list so you can ban things like all Linkin Park songs and asian love ballads for when people get too drunk?

      • I could be wrong but I don’t think it has Chinese songs .

  • Bump what mixer did you end up getting to pair with the wireless mics?

Online posts recommend Shure SM58 wireless mics

My friend recommended popsicle instead of karafun which includes Chinese songs
