I have been eyeing on this for weeks. Use discounted Amazon gift cards for even more savings :)

It retails for $159+ from local stores (e.g., Kogan, BBQ Galore).

NB. This is not the Plus version with extended range, so you will need to keep your device close. I have an iPad permanently located in the Kitchen, so perfect for me. If you use this in an oven, you really need to keep the iPad very very close, or you might experience disconnection issues. On the plus side, if the iPad is connected via WiFi, you can then relay the cooking information to other devices.

  • Good luck with it.

Apparently it's not worth buying unless you at least get the Plus version. Too many comms issues.

Yeah, this is the plus version.

      • Not the plus version

      • Nope not the plus!

      • No it's not.

      • Plus version it is not.

          Lol, alcohol said it was

from local stores (e.g., Kogan, BBQ Galore).

    Kogan isn't local

  • I have one of these, works well but have to keep a device very close. I think the range is 3 metres.

  • Meater+ is great and worth the extra $$$$

    • What is the benefit over Inkbird IBBQ-4T?

      • +1

I have Inkbird. When I'm doing a Boston Butt on the rotisserie, it's a pain using the Inkbird.

        • Ah ok yeah rotisserie makes sense. Still if I’m using the roti I’m doing hot and fast so not so worried about watching the temp, just probing every twenty minutes or so after the first hour. What puts me off with the Meater is that everything is built into the probe and probes tend to stop reading accurately after a while so nice to be able to replace easily.

          • @Cheaplikethebird: ^this.

Roti you don't need to be monitoring temp so much / constantly.

Good quality instant pen is all you need.

  • Will wait for the plus version boxing day. Hoping for a sale there.

  • Save your money for the plus version

  • Phone needs to be very close. In my oven i have to hold the phone to the glass to pick up. Bullet smoker has about 2m at most of range. Works brilliant when connected.

  • What about this similar one from Buunnings

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/matador-intelligent-bluetooth-fo…

    • Same concept you are correct.

I think this is an open mould made in China thing that matador stamped their brand on. I've seen others look the same.
