20% everything in the online store, including popular Gesture and Leap V2 (e.g., Leap with arms = $1092.80 from $1,366). Not quite as good as 25% off for Black Friday but still good if you're looking to buy a high-end chair.
Shipping can be a bit costly but there's an option to pickup if you're in one of the lucky cities.

Not sure when it ends so wouldn't delay if you've been thinking about buying a chair or two.

Highly recommend you test the chair in person before buying - there are showrooms in Melbourne and Sydney (maybe others - check the website)

  • I sat in one of these chairs once and omg it is goals. One day.

  • I just want to buy the arms. And headrest.

Got one. Series 2. Can adjust height and move seat forward and back.

Pretty good. Not an amazing chair but a step up

    • I have a Series 2 with armrests. Tried asking about buying the headreset separately, they said they don't offer it.

      • Check classifieds on this site… you reminded me of something 😆

  • Can you buy the headrest separately? Would like the Gesture but the headrest with arms isn’t in stock.

    • Hello,

We are planning to offer headrests for Series 1 and Series 2 sometime in the next few months but are still working on some logistical challenges related to that. For Leap and Gesture, the headrest has to be installed at the factory and cannot be assembled by the end user, so we will not be offering that as a separate accessory.

We should have some more Gesture with Headrest come into stock before the end of the sale, however. We are waiting on confirmation on quantities on hand from our warehousing providers to ensure that we don't oversell. Please check again next Monday night or Tuesday.

      • Thanks for the update! Appreciate jt.

        • We have Gesture with headrest in stock in Melbourne (Black & Grey/Brown) and Sydney (Grey/Brown only). We are hoping to get more Gesture HR Black in Sydney before the end of the sale but still waiting on confirmation from our warehousing providers.

  • NSW and VIC only.

    • damn that is lame

      • We offer shipping to other regions but need to quote out to our shipping provider so aren't able to offer it as a standard option yet. You can email our customer service for a quote request.

  • how does this compare with Herman Miller? are they both equally good?

    • I'd rate them a step below herman miller personally.

      • Depends on your preferences honestly, highly suggest you sit in them before purchasing.
I think at ~$1000 the Leap costs new, don't think there's a Herman Miller equivalent (edit: possibly the Sayl? it's not as adjustable though)
For example the HM Aeron is great for me, but I sit very 'traditionally' - if you sit cross legged, one leg under the other or any other ways at all it's not the chair for you!

I actually purchased a Think during the last sale, but luckily tested it before I picked it up as it doesn't work for me at all - would've been a very expensive mistake.

Chairs will fit different people, differently. I recently sat in the Embody, the Aeron and the top 3 Steelcase chairs for at least a half hour each. Body fit and comfort aside, the HM chairs were better in quality in terms of their finish, mechanisms and design. Steelcase chairs did feel cheap and plasticky. HM chairs, particularly the Aeron, while utilising a lot of plastic, incorporated it in a fashion that did not seem to detract from the chair in any way. If you're thinking of buying, I highly recommend sitting in them. If you cannot sit in them, go with the HM for their better resale if you change your mind down the track.

I received my Leap v2 with hand and head rest this week. It has been a joyful experience working from home. The chair is pretty heavy even though it doesn't look that substantial. I like the fact that it has a slim profile yet very comfortable and supportive of my back. The plastic base for the back and seat is very flexible and 'mold' to your body. The fabric is a little 'rough' though but the cushion is comfortable. If you're considering a chair, any chair… please get the headrest as well. You are already spending this much money, get the headrest.

  • Hi Steelcase Australia, I am wondering if you will have a Boxing Day sale similar to the Black Friday sale (ie 25% off)?

  • Fellow ozbargainers,

Have had some really bad experience with dealing with Steelcase.
I tried buying some chairs from them and have already paid for them, got an email saying that they would deliver by mid December.

I have tried chasing them up since evidently it is now past mid December however they have been very non responsive.

I know for these type of things in other industry onbudsman such as telecommunications can get involved, is there one for this industry.

    • Try ACCC? But the phone number I've found to be quite responsive - worth a shot.

      • Thanks,
I tried emailing their support and got a generic message saying theyre looking into it, no reply after 2 business days.
I tried calling their number listed on Google, however once dialling, they said that the number was only for their Sydney office and gave me their Melbourne number.
Tried dialling the Melbourne with no luck and left a message. Still awaiting for other options however if I get no reply, I do believe the ACCC may be the best option.

        • I have two email addresses I can send you for Steelcase… I've had contact with them 9 months ago successfully.

Not going to post the email addys here, but I can private message you. Please see here for how to enable private messaging.

          • @[Deactivated]: Please share info

          • @[Deactivated]: Same here actually. I cancelled an order using their contact form and it was replied to within 24 hours.
You should definitely try this first!

        • Hello Chedda,

Can you PM us with your order number so we can check into the current status?

          • @SteelcaseAustralia: Hi Steelcase,

I have PM'd you before Christmas and it was promised to arrive prior to the end of the year, it is now 2022.

I have tried working with you guys, I will see if the ACCC can help with my issue now.

  • Does anyone who bought chairs from this sales have theirs picked up or delivered yet?
