      Thank (profanity) finally! Cheers

    • Is the lack of a backplate an issue at all?

      • The card isn't very long, and I wouldn't imagine it's heavy, so the backplate shouldn't be necessary. If it does sag though you can just buy a cheap brace for it.

If I hadn't been burnt twice before by AMD drivers I would have pulled the trigger. I dont care about raytracing. But I had so much crashes with 5700XT and R9 280 from back in the day.

They're much better these days by all accounts

I have a 6600 XT and I haven't had any issues with the drivers so far.

    • 0 issues with my 6800XT

    • +2

      5700XT runs perfectly here.

      • Sell it on ebay and get 6700xt and have enough money leftover to buy cheap ssd. Source: I sold one last week for 1220 and bought xfx 6700 xt for 1149.

        • Yeah I'm considering it to be honest.

  • I have one of these, just be aware is quite long and may not fit in some cases

      thats what she said

I'm sorry to tell you, but if "she" said that… that was a dude.

      • Is that an RX 6700XT in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

  • What would have been the better deal, the 3060ti for $999 + delivery the other day (now oos) or this for $150 more?

    • +3

As a 6700xt owner I'd say the 3060ti was the better deal
On average 6700xt is only 6% faster than 3060ti at 1440p

Really depends though - if you're holding onto it for ages that 8gb vs 12gb may become an issue in a couple years

    • The Ti was better value for sure.

    • moving from GTX1070 to RX6700XT I can say for sure that Nvidia's software/drivers just work a lot smoother and you won't run into any hiccups.
My Rx6700XT occasionally crashes, ie. playing horizon zero dawn… and some other applications that I can't remember off the top of my head

Always had issues with my 5700 xt and now 6700 xt with non whql drivers so i always use the whql versions of amd drivers.

    • There's a new 999 deal on 3060tis if you are leaning that way

    • if you're mining on the side go 6700 xt since the 12gb will come in handy when datasets get bigger

      • You reckon? I'm actually excited to see what happens to ETH when it goes POS. Either the market goes down in a crash and everyone panics their brains out or some other coin shoots up significantly to the point that 6700 XT goes triple the price.

I ordered the 6800 xt for $1649 I feel like it's better value and will probably resell better too.

It's a good price, but not really a $150 saving. Was $1249, went on sale for $1149 for like two weeks, was price jacked to $1299 and is now on sale again.
I guess miners aren't that interested in AMD GPUs given that they'll be pretty worthless when ETH goes to PoS, unlike Nvidia cards which can mine other coins.

  • +1

It was 999 and then 1199, then 1299 and now 1149.
