Planning to use it in the bedroom. How loud is it? How effective is it?

My child has some skin allergy and the GP has recommended getting an air filter… Hope these things work.

My experience is that Costco Australia wouldn’t sell unless it has an Australian plug.
just get the xiaomi one, like every other ozbargainer.
I have several xiaomis, a Dyson and a Philips 3000i.
I was a little disappointed by the Philips, which I bought for the open plan living area - it seems to have a bearing issue in that it’s a little noisier than expected (it’s a mechanical noise, not airflow) and there’s a vibration. It has a great detector though and it can cover a very large room.
The xiaomi 3h are great for bedrooms - very quiet, good value, decent app and a simple pm2.5 display so you can see what they’re doing.
The Dyson has the best app, a high quality display and can serve as a directional (blameless) fan, but I’m less convinced about its ability to clean the air quickly. It’s a good all-rounder though.
The choice reviews are a little biased as of course the larger units designed for big rooms will clear the air in the same space faster. So despite getting a fairly ordinary review by Choice, if you can wait a few minutes and are just using for a bedroom, the xiaomi is hard to go past.
Appears to be a US import from reading the reviews…. So no AU plug etc.
Has 3 speed settings, good reviews. I doubt on low it would be loud enough to keep you awake unless you are a crazy light sleeper. Its basically white noise on low.
