  • 10 bit video N-Log is nice.

    • **With a 1k+ external video recorder set-up

Yes great camera. Especially with the recent firmware update. Eye AF is much better.

Just be wary of XQD card prices.

      Which model in particular?

        The better one.

    • 😂

  • The Olympus is better

    • I use both brands, Olympus is only better in sizes. Nikon is better in almost any other way. I do keep using olympus for underwater though because of the size and because of the very good fisheye lens olympus makes.

  • They sent my package in a bubble wrap only. The box was damaged so I sent it back. Ask them to double box your item.

    • You are very true… Recently purchased a Sony Lens and was send in a thin bubble wrap and a plastic pouch… Lucky Lens was ok.

Z6 is one camera gives you better user experience than what it appears on paper or from review testing. It is a camera which very good design and controls as well as durability. The autofocus or pixel count is not to the standard of the most current opponents but good enough for any non sports/wildlife applications. In fact even I also own d850 I actually prefer the z6 for most landscape shots too, most because of the lightweight with the excellent z lenses, and the in body stabilisation. And for nightscape/astro it's quite a bit better than D850. There are a few better z series now, but I think I will hold on to that until I can afford the z9.

The recent sandisk cfexpress deal from black Friday is quite good for this too, about $150 for the 64G. 64G is already large enough for z6 as it is a 24m pixels camera. I would rather split my photo storage to more cards if I am going for a long trip with many photos anyway.

    • What about the Z6II ?

I don't own that but I believe it is faster, maybe the same image quality. The improvement over z6 would be important if you shoot video, and a bit better in autofocus especially for tracking fast-moving objects. However from reports of the reviews, Z6/Z6II are not too impressive in auto-focusing compared to the Canon R6/R5 or Sony of the same generation, I don't expect a huge improvement over Z6 for that. Z9 of course, will be a completely different story.

Oh, another improvement from Z6/7 II is that they offer SD card slots too.

Nightscape Images on YouTube uses a Z6II. He's from Bendigo and it'll provide real world examples instead of shots of a brick wall or some chart. There's also Nikon running a cashback on lenses, though lens prices have all gone up to make the value of the "cashback" moot.

There are a whole lot of improvements that convinced me to spend an extra $600 for the ii when I was looking, not to mention the dual memory slots and cheaper SD card usage (so it was only really $500 extra because I didn’t have to buy the more expensive XQD card).
