Setting up Fire Stick 4K Max Remote with EKO TV

Hi

I have Eko TV (bought from big w). This brand is not listed on the fire tv remote setup.

I have tried to set it up manually by going in advance settings and provide IR profile number manually.

However it only accepts 4 digit number. Whereas, I received this code from EKO A05F / 05 and not sure how to use it for manual setup.

Anyone has any advise? Do I need to convert it?

Cheers,

Select the brand as JVC and eventually it’ll set it as the right one.

    • Yea I tried a lot of other brands but not JVC. I will give it a go.

    • Thanks - JVC worked.

Hello! I have the same problem and tried JVC too and went through all 14 attempts with no luck.

I have the EKO 58” 4K version - did you simply cycle through the attempts and it eventually worked or did you end up doing anything else?

Sorry absolutely stuck here and would love some help

  • Hi Advantan, I tried JVC as well and it didn’t work for me either. So I went to Firestick Settings > Equipment Control > Manage Equipment > TV > Change TV. At that point, I could see that the Current TV controlled by my firestick was Samsung (this was my old TV), so when I clicked on Change TV, it recognised that the new TV I was trying to link my firestick to was a ‘Haier’ and after following the prompts, it worked and my firestick now controls my EKO TV.
Strangely though, Haier did not appear in the list of brands, so the process I describe was the only way I could see of pairing my firestick with the new EKO TV.
    Hope this works for you.

  • Try Skyworth.
I YouTube’d the issue and saw my remote in a fix it video and he referred to Skyworth as a brand. Chose it and it worked straight away.
    Hope this is of help.

    • Skyworth didn't work for me, did you have a link to the video? Thanks.

  • My problem is the fire tv remote can't find the TV brand, I tried Haier as suggested but when it comes to sound volume test its not working.

I plugged my jbl sounbar and choose that I have a sound bar, it came to 5th attempt before the remote started working.

Seems like every time you click attempt it is loading the profile to test.

Also the eko tv doesn't have any IR as their remote works on Bluetooth.

  • For my eko tv i have used Element as the brand and it works

  • "JVC" just worked as my Eko 65" 4K TV with my Sofabaton.

  • Hi everyone!

I have found an easier method to pair the Fire Stick TV remote with your EKO brand television - particularly those with smart TV and Bluetooth accessibility. I have a Fire Stick 4K Max and I struggled to figure this out.

When you're on the home page of your EKO TV, not the Fire Stick page, go into your settings and head down to 'Remotes & Accessories' (or whatever allows you to see your EKO TV remote).

Then you will need to add an accessory, which should come up with a pairing mode 'Add an Accessory' page.

DO NOT follow the instructions your EKO is telling you to do, instead hold down the home button on your Fire Stick remote until a blinking light appears in the top right-hand corner. Continue to hold your home button until you see a pairing (Mine appeared as AR) and it should connect to your TV and allow you to turn off your TV, control your volume etc.

    Hope this helps!

P.S. I am unaware of how WebOS and Normal EKO TVs work with this method as I have an EKO Android Smart TV :)
I would also like to note that the Fire Stick TV will act as your EKO remote, so pressing the home button will go to the EKO home page, and Alexa will become Google Assistant, etc.
If you use all features on the Fire Stick remote then I would not recommend doing this method, however, if you don't mind and really want to use your Fire Stick remote to control the volume and power of your TV then please use this method :)

  • Selecting JVC as the brand worked on the 4th or 5th attempt, during the set up process for the Fire TV Cube 4K.
