Received Non-Mobile Warning from Felix Mobile

So, long story short. I received an email today mentioning that I had breached the conditions and I would be terminated within 7 days.

I suspect this is not the case, and they are just kicking people off that are using high volumes, as I'm running it in an old Huawei Y550. I've only used 200GB which is roughly in line with what I would use when sim-slutting anyway. I was paying an extra $15 or so just so I wouldn't have to change sims constantly, but it looks like that was a dumb idea.

I'm giving them a big middle finger to the Felix Mobile team because frankly they make it unclear what is a profitable and unprofitable customer to them. I hope their business model fails.

I'm in the Inner West of Sydney, so I'm lucky enough I don't have to put up with them with all my options.

    Thanks.

    I think.

  • That seems dodgy.. they should just advertise the plan as 200GB month then. Thanks for the warning as I was considering Felix.

  • Y550 is being used as hotspot?

  • How long have you had the plan for?

Is that phone approved by Felix OP?

Isn't it listed as the Ascend?

Also, rip the Pixel 6 series; not approved

      • I didn't see that list before I signed up. I have a Pixel 6, so will port out the earlier of when they kick me out or the end of the month.

Yay they approved some Windows phones!

Out of curiosity, why is there an approved list ?

So you don't put it in a router (or similar device), and uses it as a wireless hotspot. Kinda dumb that you can still put it in an approved phone and achieve the same outcome, but I guess they have to draw the line somewhere.

If someone really wanted to go to the trouble they could just as well flash the IMEI in a router to that of an approved phone.

    • Even the Oppo A53 isn't on the list. Not a great selection on the list

  • Tethering?

Thanks for making a ghost account just for this.

It must feel bad being dumped.

Since you have 7 days left just use it like it's the end of the world. Sail the Seven Seas. Download the linux distos until you fill a 3TB hard drive twice over.

  • Can someone ELI5?

Non-Mobile Warning probably refers to putting the SIM in a WiFi hotspot and using the mobile plan as a home internet replacement.
