Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread: Accessories, Tips, Tricks, and Deals

Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread.

A thread to post your findings and share with other Quest 2 owners.

Got some accessories to recommend - or even anti recommend. Maybe a great game you think everybody should have.
Now that the Big Black Friday Quest deal is finished and the deliveries are rolling in we can start looking at accessories, or comfort tips, or whatever else we want to talk about in a longer running thread…

Everything you need you can buy from Aliexpress, best time to buy would be when there's increased cashback or some kind of sitewide discount coupon that you can apply.

Do a search for BoboVR, Kiwi Design, Esimen, AMVR etc and look at the different mods, accessories. You really only need

  • a halo style headstrap to replace the crappy stock headband. (Halo style straps place the weight of the headset on your forehead, and it resembles a Rift S headstrap)
  • a basic knuckle strap for controllers
  • maybe some kind of storage zipper bag or charging dock if you want to store your headset somewhere, because you won't be able to fit your modded headset back into the original box anymore.
  • If you're suffering from Myopia / astigmatism you might need to spend some money on 3rd party lens inserts that attach to your headset with magnets and order prescription lenses from optometrist. Read the oculus subreddit for some suggestions.

You can print this flat with PLA, then put it in warm water and when it's soft, press it against the back of your head to shape it.

  • Anyone have suggestions for BT headphones? tried samsung galaxy buds and latency in FPS games was noticeable (around a second or half late in bullet firing sounds)

menu and other browsing not noticable.

If anyone has Prime Gaming access, be sure to pick up the Quake 4 freebie (ends in about 11 days and redeems on GOG.com) as hopefully it will be able to be used when Team Beef's free Quest VR port gets released (you will likely need the game on PC though so the files can be copied to Quest). https://sidequestvr.com/space/7/p/134272/quake-4-will-be-theā€¦

  • Has anyone noticed an issue with Quest 2 related to rapid hand/controller movements causing quite an annoying persistence of the image in the LCDs? If I move the controller rapidly from side to side I can see about 5 ghosts of the movement. Noticed it today in Eleven table Tennis, and then also when I dropped back to the main Quest UI environment. I'm currently on V62 firmware and it hadn't really bothered me previously but perhaps I just didnt notice it. Wondering if its just a firmware issue.
