Apple has agreed to offer a refund for those that expected to use it with 4G in Australia.
Dont know how many had nfi about this and will end up taking the offer of a refund but there may be a few these "Shop Refurbished" units showing up in the store.
Might get a nice saving if you are lucky enough to spot one.

From The Age,Apple Australia has agreed to post signs wherever its new tablet computer is sold clarifying the device does not work on Australian fourth-generation mobile networks.
The tech giant has also agreed to email anyone who purchased the new iPad stating the limitation and to offer refunds to consumers.
Wouldn't expect anything different from this company, but +ve outcome for consumers.
More than likely they'll just re-pack these refunds and use as warranty replacements/swaps.
if you buy at myer, so you can refund at myer only? or at apple store?
