  Many councils or utilities have a similar program. It pays to enquire.

  Sydney Water once offered the services of a plumber for 15 minutes or so at a nominal price to check for leaks and replace worn washers, etc. I think that with the weather here at the moment saving water is not an issue.

    Agree with your post however in my opinion - saving water is something everyone must try - as an old adage states - Water is crucial and is not finite.

    Also the more water we use - the more we pay…My 2 cents worth though!

      I'm not saying we should not save water, but there is also a finite pool of labour to work on plumbing and they are probably occupied elsewhere and hiring them would be costly for authorities. So effort should be directed to other environmental savings for the moment. Look at this way, at the moment either the water goes over the Warragamba spillway and goes to the sea, or it is used by Sydney households and goes to the sea. When the level drops, then we can look at the savings again.
